Background

Wang Xuanfeng served as Divine Firmament’s Holy Lord during Lin Xuan’s early rise. He and Luo Tongtian evaluated Lin’s unusual physique and deliberately chose not to advance him into the Inner Sect or make him a Core Disciple prematurely 25. He later stepped down, with Liu Ruyan succeeding him as Holy Master 877.

His connection to Luo Tongtian is one of sect lineage and long-term trust: Luo calls him an “unfilial disciple,” while Wang addresses Luo as Martial Uncle 809 729. The pair repeatedly coordinate deceptions, battlefield interventions, and plans for Divine Firmament’s future.

Wang regards himself as having risen from mortal origins and aims to carve out a path to immortality. He views Lin Xuan as central to that ambition and to Divine Firmament’s future 1084 1011.

Personality

Wang Xuanfeng is calculating, opportunistic, and exceptionally difficult to read. He habitually conceals his true strength, preserves trump cards, and uses feigned weakness to draw enemies into unfavorable positions 820 903. Even Lin Xuan recognizes his tendency to turn straightforward matters into large-scale schemes 909.

He is also aggressively pragmatic in negotiations. When Jade Bloom Holy Land attempted to settle a conflict, he escalated the demand from five Spirit Stone Mines to eighteen and threatened war when refused 218. He similarly pressured the Old Man of Heavenly Secrets into offering a wisp of Heaven Severing Spiritual Opportunity as repayment for Divine Firmament’s cooperation 983.

Despite his scheming nature, Wang consistently invests in and protects Lin Xuan. He values Lin’s potential, provides resources and guidance, and repeatedly risks rare assets to extract him from dangerous situations 221 1053 1084.

Abilities & Skills

Thunder Monarch Avatar

Wang’s signature combat manifestation is a colossal thunder avatar capable of overwhelming opponents with lightning-based attacks.

  • Manifests thirty-two thunderous hands to attack and restrain enemies 1304.
  • Wields a mountain-sized lightning cudgel during his spar with Lin Xuan 1740.
  • Can bind Emperor Realm opponents with lightning arms before performing Soul Search 1567.
  • Its limits are evident against Luo Tongtian after Luo reaches Half-Step Ascension; the avatar is instantly cut apart by Luo’s sword intent 1812.

Supreme Thunder Dao Laws

Wang cultivates high-level Thunder Dao Laws and uses them as the foundation of his combat power.

  • Possessed five Supreme Laws by the time Lin Xuan entered the Core Realm, including four Supreme-grade Lightning Laws 903.
  • Reached ten Supreme Laws after engraving an additional Supreme Thunder Dao Law 1582.
  • Uses black-and-red destructive power alongside lightning when confronting threats to Lin Xuan and Divine Firmament 2368.

Stellar and Formation Control

Wang can manipulate stars and formation components associated with the Zhou Tian Stellar Array.

  • Uses stellar power to intensify Lin Xuan’s Blazing Sun Truefire and impede Xiang Bei’s pursuit 899.
  • Captures a large star and erases its violent will 899.
  • Controls nine Tiangang Hearts to redirect the Zhou Tian Stellar Array’s attacks and temporarily resist Jade Bloom Holy Land’s formation 1054.
  • Uses the Tiangang Heart and a Substitute Puppet to rescue Lin Xuan from the Jade Bloom Secret Realm 1053.

Substitute Puppets and Deception

Wang relies on substitutes to mislead enemies and preserve his own position.

  • Allowed three Great Emperor Realm opponents to believe they had cornered him, only for his apparent body to transform into a wooden Substitute Puppet 819 820.
  • Used a Substitute Puppet during Lin Xuan’s extraction from the Jade Bloom Secret Realm 1053.
  • Claimed that this rescue consumed his last Substitute Puppet and would cost him the Tiangang Heart 1053.

Tactical Planning and Resource Acquisition

Wang treats information, leverage, and enemy resources as weapons.

  • Manipulated Mo Wenxin’s impatience during negotiations over the Mortal Realm Immortal Land, provoking an offer of the Unified Divine Intent 1381.
  • Spread public pressure around the Aura of Righteousness to ensure that elite prodigies would seek out Lin Xuan, turning their pursuit into a trial for Lin’s advancement 1211.
  • Coordinated Divine Firmament’s withdrawal from hostile territories while circulating information that redirected blame and hostility toward himself and Lin Xuan 908.

Equipment

  • Divine Firmament Sword — Wielded during confrontations with Jade Bloom Holy Land and other Emperor Realm forces 199 218.
  • Blazing Sun Armor — Immortal Artifact armor used to withstand and recover from Ji Chen’s blade-filled attack 1697.
  • Tiangang Hearts — Nine formation-linked treasures used to manipulate the Zhou Tian Stellar Array; one was expended in Lin Xuan’s rescue 1054 1053.
  • Substitute Puppets — Wooden decoys used for escape, deception, and remote action 820 1053.
  • Immortal Artifact bludgeon — Used to strike the Divine Firmament Sword embedded in the Bridge of the Mortal Realm and cut away part of the seven-colored ground beneath it 1269.

Relationships

  • Lin Xuan — Ally, protégé, and frequent partner in schemes. Wang supports Lin’s development with resources, advice, rescues, and carefully arranged opportunities, while Lin openly calls him “Old Wang” 221 1053 1084.
  • Luo Tongtian — Martial uncle and longtime co-conspirator. They coordinate major operations and Luo intervenes when Wang’s deceptions require overwhelming force 729 819 820.
  • Liu Ruyan — Junior sister and successor as Divine Firmament Holy Master. They work together in Divine Firmament’s leadership and military actions 111 877.
  • Qin Wudao — Holy Master of Jade Bloom Holy Land and recurring adversary. Wang repeatedly extorts, outmaneuvers, and battles him 218 1054 1445.
  • Helian Ming — Former Divine Firmament elder treated as a dangerous internal threat. Wang orchestrates his downfall and takes control of his remaining assets after his death 819 830.
  • Old Man of Heavenly Secrets — Uneasy associate repeatedly pressured by Wang’s demands and threats 983 1269.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early Support of Lin Xuan

Wang evaluates Lin Xuan’s potential with Luo Tongtian, recognizes the value of his combat talent, and later helps convert Lin’s seized Storage Rings into 700,000 Contribution Points 25 221. During the conflict with Jade Bloom Holy Land, he orders Lin to use a Great Teleportation Talisman and strike their forces, demonstrating both confidence in Lin and disregard for conventional restraint 195.

Jade Bloom Holy Land Conflict

Wang personally confronts Jade Bloom Holy Land, extorts ten Spirit Stone Mines and a Low-Grade Celestial Martial Skill, and uses the threat of the Divine Firmament Sword to force concessions 218. He later infiltrates or exploits the Zhou Tian Stellar Array through the Tiangang Hearts, enabling Lin Xuan’s escape from the Jade Bloom Secret Realm 1054 1053.

Helian Ming’s Downfall

When three Great Emperor Realm enemies attack, Wang appears to be overwhelmed. The apparent crisis is a trap: his body is a Substitute Puppet, while Luo Tongtian reveals himself and annihilates the combined attack 819 820. Wang subsequently ensures that Helian Ming’s remnant soul is destroyed in a deliberately terrifying display intended to warn Divine Firmament’s enemies 830.

Luohan Temple Operation

Wang battles Xu Qing outside Luohan Temple, revealing the initial Glimmer Level of the Second Extreme and using the Thunder Monarch Avatar to distract Xu Qing while Lin Xuan enters the temple 1304. When Lin is briefly controlled as the Martial Ancestor Abbot, Wang becomes one of the targets of Xu Qing’s counterattack before Lin’s condition is resolved 1316 1323.

Rise to Eternal Emperor

Wang continues to participate in major conflicts across the Azure Cloud Realm, fighting Emperor Realm enemies, supporting Liu Ruyan, and gathering resources for Divine Firmament 1567 1697. By the opening of the Land of Heavenly Evolution, he has become an Eternal Emperor Realm expert with ten Supreme Laws 1582.

Spar with Lin Xuan

At Luo Tongtian’s request, Wang spars with Lin Xuan to test Lin’s growth. The clash of their auras shatters the sky, with Wang unleashing the Thunder Monarch Avatar and a massive lightning cudgel 1740. The match underscores both their competitive rapport and the widening pressure Lin’s growth places on Wang’s own position 1773.
