Background / History

Orochimaru was recognized as a genius from childhood and became Hiruzen’s most prized disciple. His early sensitivity to death and the fragility of life gradually developed into a guarded, coldly rational exterior. Hiruzen, Tsunade, and Jiraiya remained among the few people capable of reaching his emotionally vulnerable side 87 111.

He aspired to become Fourth Hokage to improve the village built by his teacher, rather than for the prestige of the office. Although he disliked Konoha’s political stagnation, he remained deeply attached to the village and willing to sacrifice his life for it. In this worldline, he had not developed the desire to leave Konoha; meeting Mizu gave him another person through whom his hopes for reform could be realized 14 87 170.

His rationality coexists with ruthlessness and a dry, retaliatory sense of humor. He knowingly accepts Mizu’s questionable mission report, then makes him process military paperwork for treating him like a fool.
