Ego, Peter Quill, and the others sat around the campfire as he vividly recounted stories from the past.
"I hired Yondu to fetch you after your mother passed away.
But he never returned you to me. He kept you for himself, and I never knew why."
"I'll tell you why," Peter Quill said flatly. "Because I was a scrawny little kid who could slip into places adults couldn't get into and steal things more easily."
"I've been searching for you ever since."
"I thought Yondu was your father," Drax said.
"What?" Peter Quill stared at him in surprise. "We've been together this long, and you thought Yondu was my blood relative?"
"You two look exactly alike," Drax said as if it were obvious.
"Simple-minded, well-developed limbs." Aaron shot a disdainful glance at the absurdly muscular Drax. "You really embody those eight words perfectly."
"Yondu is blue," Rocket said speechlessly.
Seeing that Drax still seemed unable to understand, Peter Quill immediately stressed, "No, he's not my father.
Yondu kidnapped me. He beat the hell out of me, taught me how to fight, threatened to eat me, and kept me scared all the time."
"Eat you?" Ego asked in surprise.
"Yeah!"
"That bastard."
"How did you find us?" Gamora asked. She remained wary of this man who had suddenly appeared and claimed to be Peter Quill's father.
"Though I live in a remote place, I've heard of the legendary Star-Lord." Ego smiled amiably. "How about we head there now?"
"Your companions are welcome to come too, including that triangular-faced monkey."
Rocket froze for a moment, then unconsciously touched his face.
He could barely accept the triangular-face part, but monkey... that was rather rude.
