"Master, Mantis used her ability to put Ego into a sleeping state," Ake reported respectfully to Aaron. "But she probably won't be able to keep it up for long.
"Also, Rocket is repairing the ship's generator. The ship currently has no offensive capability."
"What about Peter Quill?"
"His use of divine power is far too crude. He's no match for Ego at all."
"That's normal. He only awakened recently, after all. He still needs some pressure and motivation." Aaron spoke calmly. "It's time for me to act as well. You three, get ready.
"Buy as much time as possible. Understand?"
"Yes, sir."
After cutting off communication, Aaron slowly walked toward the massive brain before him, radiating a blue-white glow as though it were breathing.
He had spent over twenty years drifting through life like a game, but he had never felt as thrilled as he did today.
He gently placed his hand on the transparent membrane surrounding the brain, and a dark-red glint flashed through Aaron's eyes.
"Dark Devouring Spell!"
As soon as the words fell, Ego's core suddenly trembled. Part of the light it emitted transformed into particles and flowed uncontrollably toward Aaron's palm, growing faster and faster.
"Feels good. So damn good."
Aaron finally felt a noticeable increase in his magic power again, and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.
Unlike using Magic Points to increase Magic Power, Ego's light energy was pure, but it ultimately did not share the same origin as magic power. The conversion efficiency was not high—only twenty or thirty percent.
Still, Aaron was already satisfied. Though the increase in magic power was slower, it was still hundreds or thousands of times faster than his fixed daily increase of four points of Magical Energy.
