"He was stronger than you." Shuma-Gorath delivered that painfully honest truth with brutal brevity.
Aaron immediately felt as though he had taken a knife to the chest, and a powerful urge to curse rose within him.
With Trick, Shuma-Gorath simply wanted to avoid him. With Horn, he lacked absolute confidence. But when it came to Aaron, he had become a soft persimmon that could be squeezed at will.
Wasn't this fucking bullying an honest man?
"I understand." Aaron drew a deep breath. "If your true body had come, it would be fine for you to act arrogantly. But what gives a mere avatar like you the right to talk so big?"

Shuma-Gorath blinked. When his enormous single eye opened again, it unleashed an eerie dark-purple beam.
Countless green tentacles rapidly spread out as well, lashing toward Aaron.

Aaron roared, stopped devouring Surtur's origin, opened his massive jaws, and spewed a crimson Dragon Flame.
The two energies collided, and the shockwave made space tremble.
Scorching heat and eerie power pushed back and forth, with neither side able to gain the upper hand for the moment.
Aaron glanced at the mass of tentacles about to surround him and immediately released Dark Gravity to halt their advance, dividing this starfield into two halves—darkness and dark green.
At the same time, a crimson magic array appeared before him. The power of his Dragon Flame surged, overpowering the Eye Demon's energy.
With a thunderous explosion, Shuma-Gorath flipped backward several times before finally stopping.
Yet he was merely somewhat disheveled. His huge, bloated body had not sustained the slightest injury.
