At the Avengers base, the defeated yet fortunate surviving superheroes gathered in the conference room. Familiar missing persons appeared on projection screens.
"Thanos has been gone from Earth for three days," Steve said.
"Governments around the world are falling apart. The departments still functioning are conducting population counts. According to the statistics, it seems he did exactly what he said he would. Thanos took... half of all life," Natasha said heavily.
"Where is he now?" Tony asked, looking haggard with an IV bag hanging from his arm.
"We don't know. He opened a portal and left."
"Heh!" Tony snorted, then looked at Thor, who had remained silent. "What's wrong with him?"
"He thinks he failed," Rocket sighed. "And he did. But who didn't?"
"We've been searching for Thanos these past few days, but our space satellites found nothing," Steve said, looking at Nebula seated beside Rocket. "You're his daughter. Your father-daughter relationship is admittedly beyond terrible, but... did he leave behind any clues? Coordinates, perhaps?"
Nebula pondered for a moment. "Thanos spent a long time making me perfect. He kept telling me about that grand plan. Even when I was being torn apart, I still wanted to please him, so I asked... after everything was done, where would we go?"
"His answer was always the same: that garden."
"Well, isn't that something." Rhodey folded his arms and said sarcastically, "Thanos actually had a retirement plan."
"So where is it?"
Nebula walked to the conference table and adjusted the projector.
Several differently colored galaxies flashed across the screen before it finally locked onto a planet dominated by orange-yellow, accented by green and blue.
"On this planet."
"Fine! We know where he is. Now what?" Rhodey spread his hands. "Not to be a downer, but all of us together couldn't beat him
