Faking It Isn't Hard, Superhero Iron Man Exposed

Tony arrived at the edge of the crater just as Iron Monger crawled out of the hole.

"Not bad, Tony," Obadiah said. "Your design accounted for everything. I definitely didn't think of as much as you did.

But I also thought of things you didn't, like what to do if you fell from a great height?"

"That's a good idea. Once I've dealt with you, I'll add it to my design."

Obadiah sneered and activated his rocket boosters, preparing to fly out of the crater, but the devices on his legs only produced a few wisps of black smoke.

"Shit! Those damn engineers can't even handle something this simple."

"Looks like there was an accident!" Tony teased. Then he leaped up and punched Iron Monger in the face.

This was supposed to be his shining moment, because the next second, two enormous steel arms seized him tightly.

"Weapons status, J.A.R.V.I.S."

"Repulsors offline. Missiles offline."

"Then launch the incendiaries!" Tony shouted.

J.A.R.V.I.S. immediately complied. Dense incendiary rounds burst across Iron Monger's body like fireworks.

Obadiah inside was affected as well. The glare stabbed at his eyes, and he instinctively loosened his grip.

Tony broke free and, before Obadiah could react, jumped onto his back and destroyed the optical sensor system at Iron Monger's neck.

"Got it." Tony smiled, but less than three seconds later, Iron Monger flung him away and tore off his iron faceplate.

With the optical sensors disabled, Obadiah's vision went completely dark. Left with no choice, he opened the upper half of his armor and exposed his face.

"I don't like these metal toys, but I have to admit, I really like your armor." Obadiah crushed the iron faceplate in his hand. "You've finally surpassed yourself, Tony. Your father would be proud of you."
