After Coulson returned, he immediately headed to the director's office and gave Nick Fury a detailed account of everything he had seen and heard at Gaius's Everything Shop.

"A Regenerator?" Nick Fury looked strange. "Do you believe what he said?"

"I do, but not entirely." Coulson said seriously. "I saw Nurse Mascot Grass, Doctor Aloe, and Acupuncture Cactus with my own eyes. They weren't fake.

"But that was still only his side of the story. We have physical evidence, but as for witnesses... the dead can't testify.

"Regenerators are to be given a sea burial after death. We can't exactly search the ocean for Gandalf Dumbledore's corpse. That's simply impossible."

"What about the potions and bandages you brought back?"

"They're here, Director." Coulson set down the bag in his hand.

Nick Fury ignored the potions and merely picked up a bandage for a look. "It really is something I've never seen before."

"Send them to the Identification Department and test their ingredients.

"If they're harmless, find someone to test their effects. If they really work as he claimed..." Nick Fury said gravely, "then try to replicate them!"

"I feel like he has us wrapped around his finger," Coulson said.

"He's just confident because he has something to rely on." Nick Fury sneered. "The last Regenerator, and he inherited the previous Regenerator's legacy.

"If he wasn't lying, his value goes without saying. We can only try to win him over."

"He's cunning enough."

"Don't treat him like an eighteen-year-old child, Agent Coulson."

"Yes, Director.

"What attitude should we take toward Gaius from now on?"

"Start by promoting him as he requested!" A glint of wisdom flashed through Nick Fury's right eye. "Take this opportunity to show him S.H.I.E.L.D.'s goodwill. Once the time is right, try to recruit him."
