"Where's the staff?" Ward asked bluntly.
"Upstairs." Randolph led them up the stairs to a safe on the second floor.
"It's so quiet," Skye said gravely.
"Otherwise, why would that Berserker have entrusted his secret to them? They took a vow of silence." Randolph opened the safe as he spoke.
But in the next instant, his eyes widened. The safe was empty.
"But if you force them to talk... they'll scream." Jacob Neistrøm swaggered out from a side door, holding two segments of a silver staff.
Someone had gotten to the second segment before them. After returning, they had immediately searched through a great deal of information before finally confirming the location of the third segment.
Now, it seemed they had beaten these cops to it.
