Dozens of cars were scattered across different intersections, faintly forming an encirclement around the building at the center.
Coulson brought Danny, Luke, Jessica, and Matt, now dressed in his Daredevil suit, to the temporary command center. Frank and the Stick Monk were also there.
"Sir, the surrounding civilians have all been evacuated," an agent came over to report.
"Got it. Hand the equipment out to them."
"What equipment?" Jessica asked. "Costumes? I'm not wearing one of those things. They're way too flashy."
"Body armor." Frank meaningfully patted the vest he was wearing. "You sure you don't want it?"
Jessica bared her teeth. "I'll take the body armor. I'm not Luke—I bleed when I get shot."
"And earpieces." Coulson handed each of them one. "Communication is essential. Makes it easier to stay in touch."
"Mr. Stick Monk, how many people did True Pure Society bring?"
"Why are you asking?" The Stick Monk instinctively became wary. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. was an official organization and not necessarily trustworthy.
"Don't misunderstand. I don't mean anything by it," Coulson immediately explained. "S.H.I.E.L.D. knows a little about True Pure Society. Like The Hand, you're a secretive ninja organization.
"But we're about to fight a hard battle. We're outnumbered, so weapons will be the deciding factor.
"Before coming here, I specifically requested a batch of weapons and equipment from headquarters. I just wanted to ask whether you need any, and if so, how many?"
The Stick Monk hesitated for a moment. "Around fifty."
"That's not too bad. The weapons I brought should barely be enough.
"Have your people collect them later. They'll need to be returned afterward."
"No problem."
Danny looked toward the distant building, his eyes full of fighting spirit. "When do we go in?"
"We need to plan this carefully," Coulson said seriously.
