Ch. 641Shifting Blame Requires More Than Empty Promises
As Hogwarts students continued disappearing into Divine Thunder Hall, Snape and Aaron devised a way to keep the Carrow Siblings from reporting the crisis to Voldemort. After Snape temporarily redirected their efforts, Aaron and Snape discussed Harry Potter’s planned Gringotts heist and when to reveal Dumbledore’s plan.
- Snape warned Aaron that the Carrow Siblings were pressuring him over sixteen missing students, and Aaron agreed to help shift the blame onto them.
- Aaron hid nearby and coached Snape as he berated Amicus Caro and Alecto Caro, warning that Voldemort would punish them for their failure.
- Snape suggested that the missing students might be hiding near food supplies, ordered the Carrow Siblings to watch the kitchen and ease up on punishments, and told them to keep Aaron under surveillance.
- After Amicus Caro and Alecto Caro left, Aaron gave Snape a Calming Draught, and they agreed Harry Potter would soon seek Hufflepuff's Goblet in Gringotts.
- Aaron and Snape agreed he could tell Harry Potter part of Dumbledore’s plan after the heist, while delaying the revelation that Harry was a Horcrux.
