Background / History

The realm was named after Purple Mao Heavenly Venerate, its first Great Power. After traveling through myriad worlds, Purple Mao returned and found that no new Great Powers had arisen in the Purple Realm for tens of thousands of years. He subsequently opened and disseminated the path to Great Power, allowing later cultivators to advance through the established Great Dao system. 141 183

By Jiang Hao's era, the Purple Realm had produced five Great Powers before his ascension: Purple Mao, Star, Langya, Xuanming, and Diluo Heavenly Venerates. Their unusual unity was a major reason the realm could withstand stronger outside threats despite lacking a Top-Tier Great Power at the time. 212

The Great Powers constructed a Cross-Realm Gate to the Spirit Realm, framing cross-realm exploration as an opportunity for Purple Realm True Persons and Dao Lords. They did not intervene in the resulting competition for opportunities. 156 181

When the Skyfire Realm established its own gate to the Spirit Realm, Purple Mao Heavenly Venerate announced that the two realms' Great Powers had agreed not to interfere with their cultivators' struggle for opportunities. 194

• The Purple Realm is at least ten times larger than the Spirit Realm when viewed from Chaos. 211
• Its Great Dao cultivation system provides a complete path to Great Power, unlike the Spirit Realm's Primordial Spirit system, which had not produced a Great Power. 208 211
• Great Powers find the realm restrictive and fragile; their true bodies can shatter void space through minor movements, so they generally travel in Chaos instead. 209

Chaos Divine Palace

A vast Chaos Spirit Treasure floating outside the Purple Realm. It serves as a secure residence and gathering place for the realm's Great Powers, with internal space comparable to a world and without the restraints imposed by lower-level worlds. 211 212 215

Heavenly Heart Disk

A mind-cultivation treasure discovered by Purple Mao Heavenly Venerate in Chaos and kept within the Chaos Divine Palace. It tests and refines a cultivator's state of mind through the Heavenly Heart Six Realms. 212 213

• Purple Realm Great Powers treated the disk as their greatest foundation, but restricted access because its existence could provoke Progenitors to seize it. 215
• Jiang Hao reached the Third Realm after five years, establishing a Karma Chain encompassing 1,086 people. 214
• He later reached the Fourth Realm, surpassing 10,000 people in his Karma Chain. 268
• Upon attaining the Sixth Realm, Jiang Hao uncovered the disk's true identity as the Heart Palace and inherited its legacy. 317 318
• Jiang Hao took the disk with him when departing for the Black Ruins, while promising to leave behind mind-related legacies for the Purple Realm. Purple Mao accepted the decision, recognizing that the treasure had chosen Jiang Hao as its master. 319

Defenses

• Jiang Hao subdued more than a dozen Chaos Kunlong, including two Limit-level Chaos Kunlong, and brought them to the Purple Realm as guardian beasts. 267
• The Chaos Kunlong family settled near the realm and incorporated it into their territory, allowing the Purple Realm's Great Powers to leave without abandoning its defense. 268
• Before departing for the Black Ruins, Jiang Hao stated that he would arrange defenses strong enough that even a Progenitor could not breach them. 319

Major Events

Spirit Realm Expansion

The Purple Realm's Great Powers opened the first Cross-Realm Gate to the Spirit Realm, allowing their cultivators to seek opportunities there. This arrangement became more dangerous after the Skyfire Realm gained access through a second gate. 156 194

Conflict with the Skyfire Realm

The Lord of Skyfire targeted Jiang Hao in the Spirit Realm, but Star Heavenly Venerate intervened. The clash between Great Powers tore open the Spirit Realm's world barrier, demonstrating the danger Great Powers posed to lower-level worlds. 206

Jiang Hao's Ascension

Jiang Hao became the Purple Realm's sixth Great Power after cultivating his physical body to the Great Power level. His immediate standing as a Second-Tier Great Power greatly exceeded the normal strength of newly ascended Great Powers. 210 212

Cloudfire Great Power's Threat

Cloudfire Great Power traced the Lord of Skyfire to the Purple Realm after his disciple was killed in a dispute over a world. The threat exposed the realm's vulnerability to powerful external forces and prompted Jiang Hao to strengthen its defenses. 263 264

Jiang Hao's Departure

After becoming an Emperor Lord and passing the Abyssal Tower trial, Jiang Hao left the Purple Realm for the Black Ruins. He warned its Great Powers to remain cautious until the realm produced a Progenitor of its own. 316 319
