In the dim underground basement, every test tube had been carefully placed in its rack. A lone beaker sat in the center of the laboratory table, holding a black sphere like a twisted shadow.
Sno stood before the lab table. He added no "supplementary materials," merely feeding his spirituality into it in silence. As he did so, the Beyonder Characteristic in the beaker slowly began to melt.
A Paradox Path Potion Formula was simply a Characteristic plus an Origin Quality imprint. Drinking a finished potion before had actually been wasteful for Sno. Fortunately, the supplementary materials for Low Sequence potions contained little spiritual substance, so drinking them would not add much in the way of impurities.
But upon reaching Sequence Seven, Sno clearly had no intention of putting unnecessary things into his mouth anymore—not even pure water or floral water!
As the Hermit's Extraordinary Characteristic in the beaker gradually melted away, headache-inducing whispers began escaping from it almost tangibly. The True Creator's corruption spread through the room, becoming ripples that crashed against the wall formed from spirituality.
At that moment, the True Creator's gaze descended upon him.
Prepared in advance, Sno did not activate White Horse is Not a Horse. He ignored the depraved aura leaking through the room and allowed it to charge about within the Wall of Spirituality, while keeping his attention fixed on the black liquid in the beaker.
Perhaps understanding that his gaze could easily cause the potion drinker to suffer Loss of Control, and still wanting to hear songs, the True Creator slowly withdrew his attention. As that focus gradually faded, the power of White Horse is Not a Horse resumed, beginning to remove the spiritual contamination that had entered Sno's body during that brief interval.
"Phew..."
He slowly exhaled a breath of turbid air.
