Audrey had a white napkin spread across her lap as she watched the maid prepare her breakfast.
Just as she was enjoying the fragrance of her tea, she suddenly heard her father mutter at the newspaper in his hands:

The Aurora Society? Audrey blinked, immediately recalling the message Mr. Devil had sent last night. She thought something had happened on Lanevus's side again and quickly asked curiously:
"Did they do something?"
"Oh, darling, you wouldn't want to know! They actually assassinated Intis's Ambassador Backlund. It does them no good at all." Earl Hall shook his head as he flipped through the newspaper, but Audrey did not listen to her own brother's speculation. Instead, she sighed inwardly:
Of course it does them no good, because Mr. Devil did it! Come to think of it, Mr. Devil is really incredible. He let Lanevus go while also assassinating the Intis ambassador, and both actions happened at the same time, so everyone would think Lanevus escaped after assassinating the ambassador... Hmm, this is truly a brilliant plan!
I really wonder what Sequence Mr. Devil is. He clearly often uses the abilities of the Spectator pathway, yet he says he isn't a Spectator... Mr. Fool said that at High Sequence, one could switch to Adjacent Pathways. Could Mr. Devil actually be a High Sequence powerhouse who changed pathways?
