"Oh, God! It took you four whole hours just to get out of the storage area. Aren't you ashamed? You're the worst challenger I've ever seen! Whatever. Now you see two paths, one leading up and one forward. Make your choice, snail!"
"I know that without you telling me!" Klein looked at the two paths before him and took out his coin again. He was still decently dressed, but what drew attention was the palm-sized white box floating above his head. Written inside in Ancient Hermes was the word "snail," complete with a childish little doodle.
Well, this was the "reward" he had received after spending four hours clearing the storage area: a title.
"This thing only shows up here, right? If I still have to wear this thing over my head after I leave, that'd be ridiculous." Using Senior's perspective to look at the white title box above his own head, Klein felt utterly miserable. With that thing hanging over him, a Faceless was basically useless, wasn't it?
Well, everyone who came here to undergo the trial was a Marionettist. His predecessor wouldn't screw over his own people that badly, right?
With that thought, Klein flipped the gold coin in his hand.
But he quickly discovered a problem—
Because this trial posed no danger to life, using a divination statement like "this path is safe" would yield the answer safe no matter which path he chose. Yet statements such as "I should take this path" or "this path leads to the Vampire" failed because the divination conditions were insufficient.
"Normally, the storage area should be at the bottom of a castle, but this is a Vampire castle after all. It wouldn't be strange for its owner to live at the deepest level, would it?"
Klein looked at the corridor
