"Sister Qiong, how did it go?" Seeing her partner return, the female trafficker set down her phone and asked.

"Nothing major on the police side. I heard there was a murder in the old district, and all the police have been deployed there." A trace of excitement showed on the man's face as he spoke rapidly. "Sister Qiong, this is the perfect opportunity! Let's leave the city tonight!"

Sister Qiong rolled her eyes at A Liang. "Idiot! The biggest taboo in our line of work is 'accidents,' whether they're good or bad! This murder couldn't have happened earlier or later; it just had to happen now. That's suspicious enough. And think about it—what kind of murder could tie up the entire city's police force?"

"You mean it's a trap? No way, right? The body was discovered this morning. We hadn't even made our move when it happened!"

A Liang scratched his head, clearly unconvinced.

Sister Qiong sighed helplessly.

"I didn't say it was a trap. I said something was wrong! An ordinary murder case might be taken seriously, but at most it would involve a few special investigation teams. Yet word has spread this widely—maybe they're trying to bait someone. Looking at it from another angle, if this case really is big enough to involve the whole city's police force, then even if it's just to catch the killer, they definitely won't let their guard down at the roads out of the city."

"Then what should we do?" A Liang looked conflicted, but Sister Qiong waved a hand.

"Stick to the original plan. Wait a few more days and leave with the post-holiday return rush. With that many people around, the police won't be able to keep the roads blocked for long, even if they're trying to catch a killer.
