A young girl in plain clothes, with cherry-colored hair and green-tipped ends, was working.
She stood beside a well, pressing down an old-fashioned hand pump with one hand, continuously pumping water into the water vat beside her until it was filled to the brim.
The water vat was enormous, nearly reaching her chest in height and about a meter across.
After filling it, she crouched down, wrapped her small hands around its rim, and with a slight exertion, lifted the massive vat in one go and held it high over her head.
Holding the vat aloft, the girl raced out of her home and toward the nearby vegetable garden, calling as she jogged, "The water's here! The water's here!"
In the vegetable garden, an older woman was busy working with several boys and girls.
They were her mother and younger siblings.
An ordinary person would have been dumbfounded to see a girl carrying such a huge vat while running so quickly, but this family had long since grown used to it.
Everyone in the family knew that although their eldest daughter looked like an ordinary girl, with slender arms and a slim figure, her strength was even more outrageous than that of a sumo wrestler.
