Yan glanced at the utterly miserable Gabriel in Sophia's arms. This top expert, who had earlier arrogantly threatened the human world, could only catch his breath now because Sophia was continuously pouring divine essence into him. If Lucifer had been given a few more breaths of time, he would truly have become a dead dog.

"I've come to take my daughter, Sophia, away."

Sophia gave Yan a disgusted look before turning her beautiful eyes toward Zi Yan behind the Duchess. Although she knew Gabriel's current injuries were partly Yan's doing, she did not choose to make an issue of it.

On one hand, what Gabriel had done was indeed disgraceful. If Yan had not acted in time, it would not have been merely one or two deaths; the upper ranks of the human world might have been wiped out entirely. Had he truly done such a thing, even Sophia would not have been able to protect him.

The other reason was that while Gabriel had been severely injured by the formation controlled by Yan, it was Lucifer who had pursued him until he was gravely wounded and near death. Sophia hated Lucifer and Hades even more, though she had no favorable impression of Yan either.

The reason she was speaking properly now was partly because Yan could wield the power of the Day of Humanity and was worthy of her attention. It was also because of Zi Yan.
