Roy straightened up with one hand on the broom, staring at Jasper in surprise.
Jasper smugly moved the bench back into place and said to Roy, "Of course. I even made a special trip to the harbour guard squad to ask about it. I confirmed that ship had been abandoned, so it didn't count as trespassing on private property."
Roy found it hard to believe. "Such a huge ship, just left on the beach—does nobody really want it?"
Jasper simply stopped what he was doing and whispered to Roy, "When Abbott and I went to the harbour guard squad to ask yesterday, those rangers were worried we'd get tangled up with the wronged souls on board."
"They'd actually submitted an application to ask the priests of the Moon God Temple to perform a purification ritual on the abandoned ship and clear out the dead souls lingering aboard."
