Those Gray Dwarf Prisoners of War

Mulin had just finished constructing a large Prisoner of War Camp on the south bank of the Tollai River. Before she could even finish handling the remaining work in the camp, preparations had to begin for the second phase of Plateau City's construction.

Although Mulin was already very familiar with this sort of work, she had arranged other tasks for herself as well.

She had originally planned to have the Mine Guard Regiment mark out a pasture on the wilderness after finishing the Prisoner of War Camp on the south bank of the Tollai River. She intended to release a herd of Unicorn Wild Oxen into that pasture and drive the other predators toward the central and southern grasslands.

Once the Unicorn Wild Ox herd had no natural enemies, its population would rapidly expand.

That way, the slavers and Gray Dwarves in the Prisoner of War Camp would have beef to eat, and there would be no need to organize hunting parties to kill Unicorn Wild Oxen all over the wilderness.

Roy had assigned her to expand Plateau City's second ring, so the pasture planning would have to be postponed.

In truth, Mulin was extremely familiar with this kind of urban expansion.

Plateau City had been planned by Roy and personally overseen by her.

First, they divided the designated land into different zones, then laid out the main streets.

Only afterward would they subdivide the secondary streets, dig drainage ditches alongside them, compact the roadbeds, and lay down fine gravel.

Once the roads were in place, building houses became very simple.

The original Plateau City had only occupied the mound in the center of the Tollai River's "ji"-shaped bend. Now, the expanded second ring Roy had planned would completely encompass that section of the river.

The Half-Elves in the city
