When Roy woke up, a blurry face appeared before his eyes, studying him carefully...
Roy was startled by that face. Once his vision focused, he saw that Lia was leaning over the sofa, observing him at close range. Her face was practically pressed against his.
"Lia, what are you doing?"
"Boss, we've arrived at the Air Port Dock. Didn't you say you were coming here to pick someone up?" Lia's cheeks flushed red. She calmly pulled back before speaking to Roy.
"We're here already?"
Roy stretched and glanced out the window.
Under the cover of night, scattered lights lit up across the sprawling tree canopy of Padesto City. From afar, they looked like a reflected river of stars...
The largest towering tree here had had its crown cut away and converted into the Air Port Dock. Standing at its entrance, one could look up at the starry sky and see the scattered starlight on the mountainside opposite.
Roy had not expected to sleep all the way until nightfall after dozing off inside the carriage.
And no one had dared wake him, so the carriage could only remain parked outside the Air Port Dock's main gate.
Three Magic Airships hovered above the platform. Only Carbide Lamps on their three masts were lit, and the airships were utterly silent. They clearly had not just arrived at the dock.
Roy stepped down from the carriage and stood by the gate. He asked the Half-Elf porters still waiting there, "Has any Magic Airship docked today?"
"Not yet! Normally, roughly one Magic Airship docks every afternoon, but today is a little unusual..."
A Half-Elf porter answered Roy.
"How much can porters like you make in a day waiting around the Air Port Dock?" Roy asked casually.
"When there's little work, we might not make anything.
