Spacecraft from Jupiter

Long Fei traveled aboard a destroyer, accompanied by three Escort Ships and a Transport Ship.

There were three Gundams aboard the destroyer: the Strike Gundam, GP01Fb, and GP04.

They sailed into a Meteorite Zone filled with enormous asteroids. Even the smallest had a diameter of over ten kilometers.

They arrived at an asteroid nearly twenty kilometers in diameter. An old spacecraft had landed on it, with two Escort Ships parked nearby.

The destroyer and Transport Ship landed beside the old spacecraft, while the other three Escort Ships stood guard overhead, wary of any unlawful organizations passing by.

The old spacecraft was estimated to be at least five hundred meters long, thirty-five meters high, and fifty meters wide.

Of the Escort Ships that had landed earlier, one was connected to the old spacecraft by cables to supply it with power.

Wearing a combat spacesuit, Long Fei piloted the Strike Gundam equipped with a mobile backpack into the old spacecraft's hangar.

From the cockpit screen, Long Fei saw many old work-use MS and aircraft in the hangar. The lighting was dim, and many of the lamps would not turn on.

Long Fei opened the cockpit and floated out. Someone was already waiting for his arrival.

"Captain Bailieba, leader of the investigation team, welcomes the boss." Bailieba, dressed in a spacesuit, saluted Long Fei, and the two people behind him followed suit.

"Thanks for the effort, Captain Bailieba. How is the investigation progressing so far?"

"From what we can tell, aside from a few powered doors and some basic equipment that can still function, everything else on this old spacecraft is broken. Just like the work-use MS in these hangars—after operating for a while, they either break down or fall apart."

"What else?"

"We also found some documents. Besides written records, there are also recorded files from the equipment. To be safe, we have transferred the equipment records to our own devices and can show them to you at any time, Boss."

"Are all the written documents handwritten records?"

"Yes."

"Where did you put them?"

"We placed them in a relatively intact room that is still usable. If you wish to see them, Boss, we can take you there immediately."

"Lead the way."

"This way, Boss."

Along the way, Long Fei observed the passageways and equipment. They were all designs from at least sixty or seventy years ago.

"Captain Bailieba, I read your investigation report earlier. Your findings indicated that their engine exploded, and you believe it was most likely caused by human error, correct?"

"Yes."

"Many of the spacecraft's communications, navigation systems, equipment, sensors, and so on were found to have been damaged when it struck this asteroid. Is that right?"

"Yes, Boss."

"What did you do with the bodies?"

"All the bodies have been placed in one room. Do you have any instructions, Boss?"

"No instructions. Leave them there. The dead deserve respect; do not disturb the bodies of the deceased any further."

"Understood."

"Did you inspect the documents you found?"

"We checked them once. The written documents have been sorted and include records of the spacecraft's voyage, crew diaries, and some investigation reports. We have not yet sorted the files from the recording devices. We also put them in that room. We had planned to assign people to sort through them first, but we did not expect you to arrive so soon, Boss."

"Mm. Are all the contents of the containers unknown metals?"

"Besides unknown metals, we also found some unusual viscous liquids. We learned some information about these things from certain documents, but we cannot understand the technical terms recorded in them. Perhaps you, Boss, can understand the technical terminology in those materials."

"Fine."

They arrived at a relatively spacious room. The lights inside were fairly bright, and it was filled with written documents. A recording device and a tablet were also placed on the table.

Captain Bailieba and his two subordinates laid several important documents, along with those the boss wished to see, before him.

"Captain, get back to your work. If I need anything, I will contact you again."

"Yes, Boss." After Captain Bailieba and his subordinates saluted Long Fei, they left the room.

At present, Captain Bailieba's crisis investigation team had not yet completely investigated the entire spacecraft.

Long Fei looked through several investigation reports. Their contents stated that the spacecraft had been a transport vessel.

In those days, many people had gone to Jupiter to develop it, establishing colonies near the planet. Aside from studying Jupiter's environment, many research groups also studied the environments of Jupiter's moons.

They found some special metals and liquids on Jupiter's moons. After research, they discovered that these special metals and liquids could be used for many military and industrial purposes.

However, the equipment in Jupiter's colonies was simply incapable of fully analyzing these special metals and liquids. Their research had only uncovered some of their uses.

The only option was to transport these special metals and liquids back to the Earth Sphere or the Colony Sphere and use their abundant equipment for further research.

Yet no one had expected the transport spacecraft, laden with these resources, to suffer an accident. The Nuclear Fusion Engine had exploded unexpectedly, and the leaked nuclear radiation caused severe casualties. To prevent the casualties from worsening, the captain had no choice but to separate the damaged Nuclear Fusion Engine from the spacecraft.

The documents then recorded events that were largely consistent with the Skywing Mercenary Group's investigation results.

Long Fei then continued reading the research materials on the special metals and liquids studied on Jupiter at the time. The technical terms involving chemistry, materials science, and other fields were incomprehensible to anyone without a doctorate.

Long Fei himself was rather unusual. When he had transmigrated here, he had already understood such things, and these technical terms posed no challenge to him.

As Long Fei turned a page, he saw a photograph and description of a white ore.

"This ore might serve as a substitute material needed to manufacture a Solar Furnace. Once I bring it back, I need to study it properly."

Long Fei continued examining the information on Jupiter's resources and found that these resources were even better than those possessed by the Earth Sphere or the Colony Sphere.

If these resources were put to use, the MS or warships produced from them might be even more powerful than those recorded in the original work's materials.

"The Jupiter Sphere has had no contact with us for fifty or sixty years. I wonder how they have developed?" Long Fei thought that if the Jupiter Sphere had not suffered any accidents, then in terms of industry alone, it would at least have surpassed the Earth Sphere and the Colony Sphere.

Military strength was harder to say. Sometimes, military advancement still needed war to verify it or spur it onward.
