The Eternals' Doom

"!!!!" Makkari ran back and forth nonstop where Lin Feng had disappeared.

Her incredible speed created ring after ring of afterimages. Makkari was trying to find Lin Feng's trail.

But the illusion Lin Feng controlled Sprite to cast was practically indistinguishable from reality. Makkari could not find him at all.

Not long after, Ikaris finally arrived as well.

He was covered in blood and grime. He looked at the battlefield, then at Makkari, who was still running nonstop.

"Where are they?"

A bad feeling rose within Ikaris as he asked.

Makkari stopped in place, and the afterimages around her gradually faded.

With a grief-stricken expression, she signed: They're gone! That person killed them!

"Impossible! No one can match Gilgamesh's strength! No one could possibly kill them! Absolutely impossible!!"

Ikaris immediately refuted her after understanding Makkari's sign language.

He did not believe her at all. Golden light flared in his furious eyes, and beam after beam of Energy Ray shot from them, wildly sweeping across the surroundings.

The surrounding ground was scorched in patches by his Energy Ray, while the sandy soil vitrified into chunks of glass.

After several minutes, Ikaris seemed to have vented his rage. He slowly descended to the ground and leaned against Makkari, who had fallen into a daze.

At that moment, Lin Feng's figure slowly emerged from the void, but the other Eternals were nowhere to be seen.

Thena, Kingo, Sprite, and Sersi seemed to have vanished from the world, leaving behind no trace whatsoever.

"I wonder how many more Eternals like you exist in the universe. Arishem practically created you for me—diverse abilities, inexhaustible stamina. This feeling..."

After devouring those four Eternals, Lin Feng's body seemed to have reached a bottleneck—or perhaps saturation.

His physical strength had evolved to an incredibly solid state. Every part of his body was comparable to the hardest metal in the universe.

The abilities he had gained through devouring gave him many more methods of attack: illusions, Energy Blast firing, energy weapon creation, and matter conversion.

Every one of them was an immensely powerful ability.

They had also brought new changes to Lin Feng's various forms.

"You know Arishem? Who exactly are you?"

Ikaris raised a brow. The man who had stepped out of thin air gave him an unprecedented sense of oppression.

He had never felt such pressure even from Thena and Gilgamesh, the strongest members of their team.

It gave him a very bad feeling.

"Heh, you're no longer a threat to me."

Lin Feng ignored Ikaris. Judging by how easily he had been lured away with such a simple diversion—

When she appeared again, she was already in front of Lin Feng.

Two golden Energy Rays tore through the air and shot toward Lin Feng in an instant.

Yet Lin Feng merely raised his hands. He did not even need to alter their form.

Black-blue energy spilled from his hands and instantly formed the shape of a Blacklight Shield.

Ikaris's two rays struck it, only to be infected and reflected back, blasting him off his feet.

Lin Feng merely felt a slight tremor in his hands, and that was all.

He looked at Ikaris, who had taken one of his own attacks, and the shield in his hands immediately transformed into a black-blue rifle.

Energy Blasts gathered within the rifle. As Lin Feng pulled the trigger, they poured out as though they cost nothing, striking Ikaris's body.

Rat-tat-tat!!!

This weapon, combining Kingo and Thena's abilities, possessed tremendous power. Each Energy Blast was comparable to a grenade shell.

With its extremely high rate of fire and endless ammunition, Lin Feng suppressed Ikaris so thoroughly that he could not even rise.

Makkari wanted to rescue Ikaris, but she could not find an opening at all.

She could only charge toward Lin Feng, attempting to draw his attention away.

Lin Feng simply tapped the ground with his toe. Ground spikes formed entirely of energy suddenly spread outward from him.

Makkari, who had been about to run toward Lin Feng, immediately stopped and began retreating continuously, dodging the ground spikes that kept erupting beneath her.

At this moment, Lin Feng faced the two of them without any pressure at all. This was entirely the result of devouring the other Eternals.

As Lin Feng sensed Ikaris's life force growing weaker and weaker through his pulse perception, he began walking toward him step by step.

By then, Makkari had already retreated over a hundred meters and was still constantly dodging the spikes erupting from the ground.

When she saw Lin Feng walking toward Ikaris, panic began to rise in her heart.

Ikaris and she were the last Eternals. If they both died here, the Eternals on Earth would be completely wiped out.

Thinking of this, Makkari decided to stop tangling with Lin Feng. She would rescue Ikaris at all costs, flee Earth, and seek help from other Eternals.

He turned and raised his shield. The black-blue rifle instantly transformed into a spiked shield.

At the same time, many holes resembling gun barrels appeared across the shield. Lin Feng aimed it at the running Makkari and Ikaris lying on the ground.

In an instant, countless Energy Blasts erupted again, directly engulfing both the path between Makkari and Ikaris and the two of them.

Several Energy Blasts struck behind Makkari as she ran. Makkari was simply too fast for the blasts' firing speed to keep up with her.

But the color beneath Lin Feng's feet began to change. Patches of wet swamp abruptly formed and continuously spread toward Ikaris.

Lin Feng wielded the Deviants' abilities far faster than the Deviants themselves. In the blink of an eye, Makkari felt the ground beneath her soften, and she sank into the swamp.

Ikaris was right in front of her. The two of them had been just a tiny step away from escaping, but unfortunately, fate was not on their side.
