Uchiha Tajima's despondent expression did not seem feigned.

Gin felt a hint of guilt over reopening his wounds. The tragedy six years ago had cost Uchiha Tajima his beloved wife and children. Bringing it up again was undoubtedly like rubbing salt in his wounds.

"Sorry, Uncle. I shouldn't have."

Gin hurriedly apologized.

"It's fine. So many years have passed, and I've long since moved on. Seeing that you managed to pull through already brings me great comfort."

Uchiha Tajima patted his shoulder encouragingly.

"Then I'll take my leave."

Knowing he would get no useful answers from Uchiha Tajima, Gin rose and excused himself.

"Wait." Uchiha Tajima stopped him.

"Is there anything else, Uncle?"

Gin looked at him.

"Soon, I may need you to accompany me on a mission. I'll notify you beforehand."

Uchiha Tajima said.

"All right."

Without asking about the mission's details, Gin recalled similar situations from his memories. They were usually negotiation or trade missions—good for building credentials, with little danger involved.

The moment Gin left, Uchiha Tajima's sorrowful face abruptly changed, replaced by a cold and stern expression, as icy as frost.

"That man's traces still remain. That old fool Uchiha Yan is getting more and more sloppy."

Uchiha Tajima muttered to himself. "In that case, it seems Gin will have to be reunited with his family."

His words were even colder than his expression.

Returning straight home, Gin ignored Senju Itama, who seemed to want to speak to him, and lay down on the sofa to sleep.

Watching Gin lie on the sofa with his back turned, Senju Itama wore a complicated expression. He did not approach again and instead turned back toward the bedroom.

Gin slowly opened his eyes on the sofa, reflecting on everything that had happened today.

That morning, he had encountered the strange Old Jailer in the Dungeon. After their exchange, the man appeared to know what had happened six years ago and hinted that the Abandoned Dungeon held the truth of the entire matter.

The hostility he had inadvertently sensed at the Medical Point had made him wary of Uchiha Tajima. His uncle was far from as simple as he had been in his memories.

The photograph discovered in the frame Senju Itama had shattered had introduced two unfamiliar people.

One of them seemed to be his Grandfather, but when he asked his uncle, he had only received the answer that he and his Grandfather had never known one another.

But the photograph could not have been fake. That, in turn, proved that something was indeed wrong with Uchiha Tajima.

After sorting through these details, Gin finally fell into a deep sleep. In the darkness, his left hand emitted an eerie red glow.

Early the next morning, Gin woke up. He had another strange dream the night before.

In the dream, he was playing with a Girl when a group of people suddenly appeared. They came before them, lowered their heads, and said something. Upon hearing them, the girl fell to her knees and burst into tears.

Then the group came before him as well and bent down to say something. Though he could not hear them clearly, he vaguely saw that the person leading them was a young Uchiha Tajima.

After hearing those words, he immediately fainted. Before losing consciousness, he saw a crimson Full Moon rise into the sky, and a strange yet familiar pattern gradually appeared upon it.

Thinking carefully about the dream, since Uchiha Tajima had appeared in it, it could not have been mere imagination.

These dreams were very likely events the original owner of this body had experienced. The girl in that dream overlapped with the Girl in yesterday's photograph.

Uchiha Hikari?

For the moment, he set the girl's matter aside. Today, he needed to head to the Dungeon in search of clues.

Walking down the Dungeon corridor, Gin recalled that the Old Jailer had given him enough hints yesterday. He had to find the Abandoned Dungeon.

According to Uchiha Lucha, the Abandoned Dungeon had once been located between the First Dungeon and the Second Dungeon. Before him was a Y-shaped fork.

The path on the left led to the First Dungeon, while the one on the right led to the Second Dungeon. Yet the wall directly ahead bore obvious signs of excavation, indicating that there had once been a passage here.

Feeling along the protrusions in the wall, Gin tried to find some sort of mechanism that could open the wall before him, but after searching for a while, he found nothing.

Just as he was about to give up, he spotted a round figure in the distance. It was Elder Uchiha Yan, with the sinister Uchiha Ryuei standing beside him.

Not daring to get too close, Gin watched the two converse from afar and quietly activated his Sharingan. As it recorded their lip movements, their conversation was decoded.

Uchiha Yan: "Ryuei, has that Hiruzen clansman confessed?" Uchiha Ryuei: "Lord Yan, give me a little more time. I'll torture the answers we need out of him without damaging his brain."

Uchiha Yan: "Hurry it up. If it comes to it, forcibly read his memories."

Uchiha Ryuei: "But that could directly cause brain death. What if we haven't finished reading them yet—" Uchiha Yan: "That is the last resort. Has the person in Cell 0 been behaving lately?" Uchiha Ryuei: "There have been no unusual movements. I'm personally guarding him, so please rest assured, Lord Yan."

Uchiha Yan: "Don't let him die. There are still many matters that require his answers."

Uchiha Ryuei: "Yes. I'll go check on him shortly."

After deciphering their conversation, Gin guessed that Dungeon Number Zero, which Uchiha Yan had mentioned, was the Abandoned Dungeon.

He had not expected there to be a living person inside, personally guarded by Uchiha Ryuei. That would make getting in far more difficult.

Since Uchiha Ryuei had said he would check on the prisoner shortly, could Gin not simply follow him in secret and find the Abandoned Dungeon's entrance?

With a plan in mind, Gin began following Uchiha Ryuei from a distance.

Given the other man's formidable strength, getting too close and exposing himself would be difficult to explain. So he kept a considerable distance behind Uchiha Ryuei the entire time.

After following him for quite a while, Gin saw no sign of him heading toward the Abandoned Dungeon. Instead, he remained in a cell in the First Dungeon for a long time.

Finally, after a long while, Uchiha Ryuei emerged from the cell with both hands covered in blood and headed straight back to his office.

Seeing that he was about to lose him, Gin considered things for a moment before stepping forward and knocking on Uchiha Ryuei's door. Yet no answer came even after a long time. Sensing something was off, Gin pushed the door open and entered.

What met his eyes was a rather large office, but its color scheme was incredibly gloomy and oppressive. He looked around, yet Uchiha Ryuei was nowhere to be seen.

"Where did he go?"

Gin thought to himself. Looks like there's a Secret Passage in this room.

Based on his years of watching films and television dramas, Gin reached that conclusion.

Mechanisms were usually hidden in bookshelves, ornaments, vases, and the like.

Uchiha Ryuei's office was simply furnished. The only conspicuous object was a vase on his desk. It was supposedly a vase, yet not a single flower had been placed in it. It was highly suspicious.

Just as he was about to inspect it, Gin's senses, enhanced by the Uzumaki Bloodline, detected Uchiha Ryuei's Chakra slowly approaching from afar. But there was nowhere left to hide in the office.

What should he do? If Uchiha Ryuei caught him breaking into his office, things would not end well. As he sensed the other man's Chakra was only a few meters away, a shadow suddenly rippled across the office wall.

Gin, prepared to face judgment, suddenly noticed ripples spreading across his own shadow. A familiar face appeared within it.

The next second, his body sank, and he was actually swallowed by his own shadow.

Hearing the lock turn, Gin had no time to resist. One second before Uchiha Ryuei pushed open the Hidden Door, he quietly merged into his own shadow.

Uchiha Ryuei emerged through the door and frowned as he looked around. His sharp senses vaguely told him that something was here.

But even after activating his Sharingan and scanning the room several times, he found nothing unusual. In the end, he could only give up, assuming that he had been too exhausted from interrogations these past few days and had begun hallucinating.
