Lost Memories: The Girl Who Was His Childhood Sweetheart
Fourteen years ago.
Uchiha Tajima Residence.
Caressing his wife's swollen belly, the young Uchiha Tajima was overjoyed. Looking at the dappled shadows of trees outside the window, he immediately decided that his first child would be named Madara!
At that moment, a crisp knock sounded at the door. Puzzled, Uchiha Tajima got up and opened it. The visitor was none other than his teacher, whom he had not seen for a long time—Uchiha Yao.
"Teacher, you've kept to yourself these past few years. What brings you here today?"
Seeing his benefactor arrive, Uchiha Tajima immediately ushered him inside.
"Tajima—ah, no, Clan Leader."
With an expressionless face, Uchiha Yao bowed, preparing to salute him.
"Teacher, please don't stand on ceremony. Before you, I will always be your disciple."
Uchiha Tajima, who had always respected his teachers, hurried forward to stop him.
"Courtesy must not be neglected."
"There's no need for that. Teacher, you don't visit without reason. What exactly is the matter?"
Uchiha Tajima shook his head and asked.
"This old man has had to bury his own son. A Jin has only Gin left as a child. I hope to live with him. I don't want this child to spend his childhood in loneliness."
After a long silence, Uchiha Yao raised his head. His ink-black eyes were as deep and dark as black holes, revealing no emotion whatsoever.
Uchiha Tajima looked troubled. The two youths who had awakened the Mangekyo had been personally entrusted to him by the Old Clan Leader, who had instructed him to look after them well.
The two children possessed power beyond their years. Without proper guidance, they would inevitably become ticking time bombs. Thus, Uchiha Tajima could only refuse regretfully. "I'm sorry, Teacher."
Seeing Uchiha Tajima's struggle, Uchiha Yao wore an expression as though he had expected it. His face softened slightly as he continued.
"Then let me join their research. I heard from Uchiha Miao that you are studying the abilities of their Sharingan. I should be able to help."
"If that is the case, then I'll be troubling you, Teacher."
Knowing he could not refuse, Uchiha Tajima had no choice but to agree. Besides, within the clan, no one could rival Uchiha Yao's research into the Sharingan.
With Uchiha Yao's participation, the two children's growth would benefit greatly.
Having received the answer he wanted, Uchiha Yao had no reason to remain any longer. After a brief farewell, he turned and vanished into the night.
A few years later, Uchiha Yao joined the research team for the two children. With his formidable skills, he gradually replaced Uchiha Miao as the team's leader.
At the time, Uchiha Tajima's Wife was about to give birth. As a soon-to-be father, he was too occupied with clan affairs and household matters to spare himself, so all research concerning the two children's Mangekyo fell upon Uchiha Yao alone.
However, Uchiha Tajima had not left himself without contingencies. According to certain rumors, Uchiha Yao's personality had become increasingly strange. Worried that something might be wrong with his mind, Uchiha Tajima made two preparations.
Besides Uchiha Miao, who served as his deputy, he also assigned the fiercely loyal Uchiha Yan to guard the Laboratory and monitor Uchiha Yao's every move.
Several more years passed like this, and Uchiha Tajima's children were born safely.
Of the two children, Uchiha Gin was permitted by Uchiha Tajima to go outside during breaks from testing because of his identity, but he had to be accompanied by a dedicated guardian. Nameless, on the other hand, could not leave the Laboratory because of her Eye Technique, Yachihoko.
Those peaceful days lasted until six years ago.
"What? Uchiha Yao proposed raising the two children as war 'weapons'?"
One day, Uchiha Tajima, who had been bent over his desk reviewing documents, raised his head in shock. Looking at the deeply worried Uchiha Miao before him, he asked in disbelief.
"That's right. According to Uchiha Yao's research, he discovered that Uchiha Gin's Mangekyo abilities and Nameless's abilities could support one another.
"Nameless's Eye Technique, Kagutsuchi, can control and strengthen Uchiha Gin's Amaterasu, upgrading the Black Flames into a shape-transforming Release Technique and raising its lethality to another level.
"And Uchiha Gin's Tsukuyomi can help Nameless's Yachihoko imprint enemies in groups. Yachihoko then absorbs Chakra and feeds it back into Uchiha Gin's Tsukuyomi, allowing the two to form a perpetual cycle."
Holding a document, Uchiha Miao reported the predicted experimental results to Uchiha Tajima.
"Gin is his own grandson. How could he bring himself to do such a thing?"
Uchiha Tajima asked in confusion. As Clan Leader, he naturally understood what "war weapons" meant.
It would be a cruel, inhuman double torment. Those labeled as "weapons" had to abandon their identities as people and live as tools without independent thought.
"I don't know about that. But he has already begun the experiments. He will probably start with Nameless."
A Hint Of worry appeared on Uchiha Miao's withered face. He understood Nameless's Yachihoko ability better than anyone. Compared to Uchiha Gin's two purely combat-oriented Eye Techniques, Nameless's Yachihoko was far more dangerous. Mental control combined with Chakra absorption made it a weapon for large-scale prolonged battles. If it ever went berserk, it would cause irreparable losses to the Uchiha Clan.
"No! Make him stop the experiments immediately. Elder Miao, you will take over his position. Remember to calm the two children first."
Upon hearing that Uchiha Yao had begun the "war weapon" experiments without his authorization, Uchiha Tajima immediately ordered him to stop.
"Yes!"
After receiving the order, Uchiha Miao immediately set off to return.
Inside the Laboratory.
Two beds stood in a stark white hospital room. The young man by the window yawned listlessly, his dull, dead-fish eyes gazing at the scenery outside. His fluffy curly hair swayed in the breeze, while a gentle, reassuring smile rested on his handsome Small Face. At that moment, he had no idea that a nightmare was about to descend.
The young man was named Uchiha Gin, but he was not originally from this world. After accidentally falling into the water, he had drifted down a great river and become one of the countless transmigrators swept along by the tide. When he was first born and saw the backward surroundings, his vision had gone black. He thought he had returned to ancient times, where people had to wipe themselves with bricks, and frantically tried to recall the essential bits of knowledge every transmigrator needed.
How did you make soap again?
However, when the infant Uchiha Gin accidentally saw the War Fan emblem behind his father, he immediately perked up again.
So he had been sent into Naruto. And he was an Uchiha! As long as it was not the eve of the clan massacre, he could soar to greatness! Yet things did not go as planned. Before long, Uchiha Gin discovered that the era he was in seemed somewhat off. There was still a very, very long time before the plot began. With no cheats whatsoever, he could only behave himself as an ordinary child for now, preserve his life, and make plans gradually.
Fortunately, his family after transmigrating was quite decent. His father, Uchiha Jin, was popular and powerful, the very image of Minato.
His mother might have seemed cold on the outside and warm on the inside, but she was also a deeply affectionate woman who spoiled Uchiha Gin beyond measure.
He also had a mysterious Grandfather. Uchiha Gin always felt that the old man did not seem to like him much, while showing considerable concern for his father.
Uchiha Gin had thought he had received a peaceful daily-life script, but accidents always came without warning. Not long after he had formed Bonds with his current parents, he received the terrible news that they had died on the front lines.
Perhaps modern people had more delicate emotions. Overcome by grief and hatred, Uchiha Gin erupted on the spot and awakened the Mangekyo, at least not disgracing the great army of transmigrators. However, the excessive exhaustion caused him to fall unconscious.
When he woke up, Uchiha Gin found that he had been taken under the protection of the Old Clan Leader. Along with him was the Girl from next door. Her parents had been subordinates of Uchiha Gin's father and had also died in battle. After many twists and turns, the two ill-fated children ultimately arrived at this Laboratory.
"Haaah~"
After stretching lazily, a ray of sunlight fell across Uchiha Gin's fluffy curls. Every gesture of his exuded languid ease. He turned to the slender Girl on the other bed and asked.
"Xiao Guang, do you really not want to go out? I can ask Uncle to take you along next time I go out so we can have some fun. Let me tell you, Izuna wet the bed a few days ago. Hahaha, Aunt gave him a proper beating for it."
Uchiha Gin laughed until his eyes narrowed into slits. As a transmigrator, once he learned that he had two famous younger cousins, how could he not properly "teach" them a lesson?
Achievement unlocked: flicking one-year-old Madara's Kun Kun.
Achievement unlocked: fiercely rubbing two-year-old Madara's head.
Achievement unlocked: watching three-year-old Madara dance.
As he spoke, Uchiha Gin pretended to cautiously look around. After confirming that no one was nearby, he cupped one hand around his mouth and whispered, "But I know that sheet actually belonged to Madara. That brat is so bad. He bullied Izuna for being younger and pinned the bedwetting on him."
Hearing Uchiha Gin's words, the Girl, who had been resting with her eyes closed, opened them. Her black eyes were filled with helplessness. She then rolled her eyes dramatically, sat up, and said, "Stop telling me embarrassing stories about your younger brothers. I'm really not interested."
"As for going out, there's nothing outside that I still care about. It's quite nice staying here anyway. After all, I have you."
With both parents dead, the Girl no longer had any other relatives outside. Her only support now was perhaps Uchiha Gin before her.
As she thought this, the Girl's gaze fell upon the young man who was making faces in an attempt to cheer her up, and she Changed the Subject.
"A Gin, if you're really bored, go find your Grandfather. He's locked himself in the Laboratory for months now. Aren't you worried about him?"
Thinking of Uchiha Yao, whom she had barely seen lately, the Girl mentioned him casually.
"Why bring him up? Every time he comes, he makes us go to the Laboratory for tests. He works us half to death and won't even give us a piece of Candy. Yan Grandpa is much better. He always secretly gives me sweets."
Uchiha Gin's eyelids drooped, his face turning into that of a dead fish as he complained wildly about his Grandfather.
Eight years ago, the two young children had been brought to the Laboratory. At first, Uchiha Tajima visited them often, but after succeeding to the position of Clan Leader, his visits gradually became less frequent.
Uchiha Gin had it better and was often taken home by Uncle to enjoy himself. Uchiha Hikari, however, was confined to the Laboratory because her Sharingan was still unstable and her control over her Eye Technique was immature. She was watched over by the tall, thin Uchiha Miao.
After some time, a new researcher arrived. Uchiha Gin recognized at once that he was his biological Grandfather, Uchiha Yao, whom he rarely saw.
After taking over Uchiha Miao's work, he often interacted with the two children and took quite a few photographs during that time.
