"Hiss."
"Lao Mu, what's wrong?"
Feeling the Five-Tails at his waist suddenly shudder, Han lowered his head in confusion as he leaped across the rooftops.
"Nothing. I just suddenly felt a chill down my back. Maybe it's because of the weather."
After looking around and finding nothing unusual, Kokuō shook its head, assuming the Rain Country's dreary, humid weather had made it somewhat unaccustomed to the climate.
"I'll leave this place as soon as possible."
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a violent explosion interrupted the conversation between man and beast. Catching the faint scent of sulfur in the air, Han knew he had entered the battlefield.
"Bang!"
Sure enough, a brilliant firework mixed with purple mist blossomed overhead. Under the moonlight not far away, two figures rapidly clashed. Every collision sent scorching sparks flying.
"Who's that?"
Han was very familiar with one of the crimson figures—it was his teammate, Xiao Zi. But he had never seen the other figure before.
It was an unfamiliar knight, entirely black and covered in bewitching purple patterns. Savage spikes covered its body, and their tips constantly secreted pungent venom.
The purple venom scattered wildly along with its attacks, corroding everything around it beyond recognition. Even Xiao Zi's Lava Style could not escape it.
"Hiss... What vicious poison. Could this guy be the new Six-Tailed Knight?"
Seeing the ground corroded into countless pits, Han could not help drawing in a cold breath. According to the village records, the only Tailed Beast capable of using poison so masterfully was the Six-Tails.
Although this black knight looked nothing like the Six-Tailed Knight described in the records, both he and Xiao Zi had already changed forms. It was only reasonable for the new Six-Tailed Knight to have a different appearance too.
"Not the slug."
Kokuō raised its head and lightly sniffed.
