Hydrangea stood before a traditional grilled fish restaurant that had only recently opened. She glanced at several nearby foreign specialty snack shops that were doing booming business, then turned back to the nearly empty storefront before her, her brows knitting slightly.
"Yawn... Welcome—uh, Lady Hydrangea?"
The dozing waitress noticed the rare customer and hurriedly wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth as she scrambled to her feet. She was about to force out a professional smile when she realized the customer at the door was an acquaintance.
"Are you all... that free?"
Hydrangea folded her arms across her chest and coldly addressed the somewhat timid Rain shinobi spy.
"We—we've only just arrived, and the project we chose wasn't particularly distinctive, so..."
The waitress tugged at her skirt hem and explained pitifully.
"Forget it. Let's talk inside."
Hydrangea lightly shook her head and stepped into this secret intelligence outpost established by Amegakure in Konoha.
"Oboro, we finally have a cus-cus-cus-customer—Lady Hydrangea!"
Hearing someone enter, a middle-aged man poked his head out from the kitchen, his eyes full of expectation. Yet, like the waitress, his expression abruptly changed the moment he saw Hydrangea, and he could barely speak properly.
"Just the two of you?"
Hydrangea casually surveyed the plain decor and found it identical to the standard layout of traditional grilled fish restaurants in Amegakure. It was far too old-fashioned. No wonder there were no customers.
"Yes. For the time being, this intelligence outpost consists of only Oboro and myself."
The middle-aged Rain shinobi knelt on the ground with his forehead touching the floor and answered truthfully.
"Lady Hydrangea, please have some tea."
The waitress, Oboro, tremblingly handed over a cup of hot tea. Hydrangea took one look and instantly lost interest. She took a small sip
