Fang Yuan looked at the massive boar on the ground, several times more robust than the wild boar from last time, and bared his teeth in a grin, both excited and troubled.
The excitement needed no explanation—this beast was enough to feed the whole family for quite some time. The trouble was, how was he supposed to get it home?
He had at least been able to barely carry the last one back over his shoulder.
But this boar weighed no less than four hundred jin. Huge-bodied and knotted with muscle like a small mountain of meat, it was definitely not something he could carry on his back.
He tested his strength, grabbing one of its legs and trying to hoist it up. Sure enough, it was difficult to get any leverage.
It was not that his strength was lacking. The effects of his training these past days and the nourishment of the Snow Ginseng had been remarkable; the problem was simply that its size and shape made it impossible to get a proper grip.
"Looks like I can only drag it." He made his decision quickly.
Fortunately, the snow offered little friction, making dragging far less strenuous than carrying it by brute force.
He took out the sturdy rope he always carried and skillfully bound all four of the boar's legs tightly together, leaving a long length of rope at the other end,
which he tied into a loop that could fit over his shoulder.
Throughout the entire time he was busy, the Purple Sable quietly sat atop a snow-covered rock nearby,
its little head tilted as it watched him, lively light flickering in its pearl-black eyes.
It seemed intensely curious about the way Fang Yuan, this two-legged creature, dealt with large prey.
It had not fled in fear
