Reflections on Completing the Novel

I had finished writing the third version of the ending, which happened to correspond to the Agricultural Official's three factions: Heavenly Timing, Earthly Advantage, and the True Self.

Writing an ending was painful. I just hadn't expected the pain to be not only psychological, but physical as well.

After I finished updating Master of Cold Food Festival at the beginning of the year, I felt that my body simply could no longer support writing. After waiting for the particles in my eyes to disappear, I was even suspected of having diabetes.

If I wanted to lower my indicators, I had to cut down on carbs and sugary drinks. That was practically killing me.

When I wrote, I usually kept either two cups of milk tea or two bottles of soda beside me. Only by consuming sugar could I feel happy.

To what extent? I basically drank beverages like water.

Of course, I also had the usual occupational ailments of authors—lumbar issues, cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulders, and so on. But in the current environment, every author had these problems, so there was nothing much to say about them.

When all was said and done, it came down to one thing: I simply wasn't good enough.

I realized that I could no longer control the later stages of Divine Farmer Dao Lord, physically or mentally. The double pressure on my mind and body severely hindered me from sitting down in front of the computer to write.

Especially once I realized that I might never again be able to write such a good premise, or another book with such high achievements, facing this ending became particularly difficult.

Yet when I first began writing Divine Farmer Dao Lord, and even until it reached one or two million characters, I had been full of confidence.
