The first was a prerequisite for many of the active spells learned by Materia Medica physicians.

The third was [Basic Gathering Technique], an active skill.
Zhao Xing had not picked any herbs, but examining them in the field while consulting the texts gave him a better understanding of the gathering methods they described.
So although he had not touched a single plant, he now knew how to harvest herbs while preserving as much of their medicinal potency as possible.
On top of that, his proficiency in Spirit Scent had risen by 100 points.
It had been a bountiful morning.
He felt a little dizzy during lunch, though. The herbs in the field had been planted so densely that, after breathing in all those different scents, it would have been hard not to.
A glance at his status panel revealed a new condition: [Mildly Poisoned].
"Mildly poisoned? That's not too bad." It was hardly Zhao Xing's first time being poisoned.
Come to think of it, improving his proficiency in Spirit Scent often went hand in hand with getting poisoned.
He took an antidote pill from his belongings, and a quarter of an hour later, he felt fine.
