Background

Dodd began as an ordinary Adventurer in Barracuda Bay with no notable backing. Through talent, leadership, carefully assembled Combat Skills, and experience earned in the Southern Islands, he became a Lv. 9 [Warrior] and gained the epithet “Algae Scale.” 544

At some point, Dodd acquired a silver ring from a Molton family member. Its exceptional value as a ritual medium led him to seek a Transcendent advancement path rather than settle for the conventional Warrior route. He learned of both [Duel Master], a weapon-focused advanced class, and [Scale Shifter], a higher-potential path that suited his Dragonborn bloodline and ambition. 544 545

Dodd later attacked a royal cargo ship of the Servia Kingdom, became wanted, and disappeared into the Southern Islands with his crew. He developed from a rising Barracuda Bay Adventurer into a notorious pirate, leaving few survivors during his operations and concealing the location of his base. 396 401

He controlled Thousand-Stakes Island, also known as Stodd Island, and hosted the Moon Tide Feast every three years. His unusually public sponsorship of the feast concealed preparations for his Transcendent advancement ritual. 530 538

Appearance

Dodd is a Dragonborn whose mixed-blood appearance is described as diluted. His identifying features include a dragonlike tail, fine scales, and vertical pupils. 544 581

Dodd is cautious, calculating, and intensely ambitious. He spent years accumulating wealth, influence, intelligence, ritual materials, and contingency plans for a single opportunity to reach the Transcendent realm. Even before initiating the ritual, he prepared a hidden escape route in case of failure. 545 566 577

His pragmatism is paired with extreme ruthlessness. Dodd viewed the Adventurers drawn into his ritual as expendable stepping stones, expected the Sahuagin attack to weaken survivors, and showed no concern for the civilians being slaughtered during his retreat. 545 566 579

Dodd is also capable of restraint when survival demands it. After the Sahuagin destroyed his escape route and killed his crew, he attempted negotiation, bribery, and deception rather than immediately fighting a battle he knew he could not win. 580

Search for the Molton Heir

The Adventurers Association identifies Dodd as the Dragonborn pirate responsible for attacking Lyle Molton’s crew. This places Dodd at the center of Xia Nan’s search for the missing Dreamweaver Corridor Key. 395 396

Moon Tide Feast

Dodd hosts the Moon Tide Feast on Thousand-Stakes Island, using the event to draw pirates, Adventurers, and other potential ritual participants together. He directs preparations through Flynn while concealing his true objective. 530 538

Scale Shifter Advancement Ritual

Dodd activates a Secret Realm ritual using the silver ring and Deep Sea Resonance Stones. His goal is to defeat the participants in an evolving beast form, fulfill the Scale Shifter requirement, and advance beyond Lv. 10 into the Transcendent realm. 545 546

Despite advantages in information, participant tracking, and starting species, Dodd loses time to an unintended sleep, misses a major Life Energy Airdrop, and fails to reach his planned dragon-type evolution. 561 566 567

Defeat in the Secret Realm

Near his fifth evolution, Dodd targets Xia Nan’s group, believing their numbers to be a weakness. Xia Nan ambushes and kills Dodd’s weakened lizard incarnation before he can complete the final evolution, collapsing the ritual. 570 571

Betrayal and Death

After returning to reality weakened by both ritual failure and backlash, Dodd attempts to escape Stodd Island while leaving the Sahuagin attack to slaughter Adventurers and civilians. His Sahuagin allies instead destroy his escape route and claim him as a sacrifice. 577 579 580

Surrounded and mortally wounded, Dodd self-detonates, killing several Sahuagin but failing to kill Ulk. His corpse is then used in Ulk’s sacrifice ritual. 581 582
