Hunting Day.
A festival unique to River Valley Town.
To a certain extent, rather than calling it a festival, it was more like a large-scale event organized by River Valley Town's Adventurers Association.
Its timing was not fixed. Sometimes it would not even appear for several years in a row.
Nor was it limited to a brief single day. Instead, it would last anywhere from fifteen days to two months, also without a fixed duration.
The festival had only one custom.
—Hunting.
Even the target of the hunt was the same every time.
—Goblins.
Just like a "fishing season" out at sea, every so often, the Green-skinned Goblins in Thin Mist Forest would seem to be stimulated by something and begin breeding and multiplying like mad.
Their numbers, already as vast as swarms of mosquitoes, would swell in a short period of time to a degree that could only be called exaggerated.
Under such circumstances, these Monsters, naturally cruel and vicious and whose morale multiplied with the size of their group, were driven by survival instinct and naturally began expanding and invading outward.
The forest was filled with many high-level Transcendent creatures, and the environment was harsh. No matter how numerous the Goblins were, they were still not enough to break the balance within.
By comparison, the fertile and open lands outside Thin Mist Forest, as well as the ordinary civilians living on those lands, became their targets.
A very long time ago, when the concept of "Hunting Day" had yet to appear, and even River Valley Town was still only a remote and desolate small town...
Servia Kingdom had long stationed large numbers of troops here year-round. Although it paid a high military cost for this, it also protected the local residents while suppressing the Goblins' momentum of growth.
