Lead clouds piled up like an unbroken mountain range, and thick gray layers churned as they spilled a curtain of rain.

Crystalline raindrops fell halfway through the air, only to be caught by the long, rising sound of Wolf Howl, tugged apart and crushed, reflecting the flashing, razor-cold gleam of iron-gray Wolf Fangs before turning into illusory mane strands streaming from a roaring Wolf Head.

Hiss—

A savage wolf head formed from rainwater, shredded grass, and flecks of mud snapped down, leaving a blood-slick wound on the enemy's body.

A thick, fur-covered arm slammed down like a whip from the air at the side, its sharp claws closing together, yet it caught only two broken grass stems and a few trailing notes of the already fading Wolf Howl.

Strike once, then retreat.

Heavy leather boots sank deep into the muddy meadow. His backward steps went from fast to slow, until, along with the torn leaves drifting down on either side and the rain once more falling calmly around him, he came to a steady stop.

"Huff... huff..."

His chest heaved violently, and the scalding breath gushing from his mouth and nose condensed into gray-white mist in the frigid air.

Xia Nan gasped for breath.

No obvious expression could be seen on his rain-drenched face. Only those black eyes, reflecting the burly figure ahead, revealed an incomparable focus.

Berg's head had been crushed, leaving him dead beyond dead; Adeline had been sent flying by one slap from the Bear Goblin in its explosive state and had also withdrawn from the field with severe injuries.

In just a few short minutes, the situation had taken a sharp turn for the worse.

For a moment, the only one left on the field who could fight the Red-maned Bear Goblin head-on was actually him.
