"Lorraine never told me you were coming."
Holding his fishing rod, Xia Nan found a spot and sat down beside Ellison.
Though he was surprised by Ellison's appearance, Xia Nan showed nothing on his face. His tone was as casual as if he were greeting a friend.
"She obviously didn't know." Ellison organized his fishing line by himself. He only glanced at Xia Nan beside him before looking away again. "You've been with the Oath of Vengeance Blades for so long. Don't you understand her personality?"
"If she knew I was coming to the island too, I'm afraid you two wouldn't have had a moment's peace along the way."
Xia Nan had previously told Lorraine many things about her elder brother, Ellison, and her attitude toward it——
At the time, she hadn't shown anything unusual. She had even seemed exceptionally calm and rational.
But after reflecting on it later, Xia Nan could vaguely sense that she had actually been somewhat resentful.
He could understand that.
When Lyle Molton was attacked by Algae Scale Dodd, Lorraine had still been very young. She had established her goal of revenge early and worked toward it ever since.
After years of effort, she had not only raised her Profession Level to a relatively high level, but had also built her own force and made a name for herself throughout the Southern Islands.
By comparison, her elder brother seemed to have accomplished little.
Even though she knew he had not completely given up, and was instead working in another direction to search for any hope that their father might still be alive,
after so many years, it was perfectly normal for Lorraine to harbor some resentment.
"You wouldn't mind if I mentioned you to her after I get back, would you?"
