Tremor.
Fine clumps of dirt sifted down from the ceiling of the burrow, dusting Xia Nan's fluffy, soft fur.
Beside him, the Wolf Cubs had also been startled awake by the beastly roars from outside the burrow. They whimpered and trembled as they huddled together, as though doing so could give them a little more security.
With the thought processes of a normal human, Xia Nan naturally did not panic and lose his bearings like his littermates. Instead, he maintained the most basic calm and considered his current situation.
Judging from the low growls of the Wolf Beasts coming from outside, along with the fact that the adult Coyotes in the burrow had disappeared—
There was most likely some ferocious and somewhat aggressive beast that had broken into the vicinity of the burrow.
So, should he continue staying inside the burrow?
The thought had barely arisen when Xia Nan immediately rejected it.
On the one hand, if the pack had truly been attacked by some beast, there were roughly only two possible outcomes.
Either the beast would be driven away by the pack, or the pack would be defeated by the beast.
If the first outcome came to pass, there was nothing more to say; it would have been a close call without any real danger.
But if matters deteriorated to the worst possible point and the adult Coyotes were killed by the beast, then the Wolf Cubs hiding deep inside the burrow would become turtles in a jar.
Their movements were restricted by the terrain, and their small, frail bodies were weak. In the face of a ferocious beast capable of defeating the pack, almost none of them had any ability to resist—Xia Nan being the sole exception.
On the other hand, Xia Nan was not the kind of
