Tsukuyomi

Ye Lan was nailed to the table, his face twisted in pain. He did not say a word, only stared coldly at Danzo. Even as Danzo drove the entire dagger into Ye Lan's heart, Ye Lan remained silent and merely lowered his head slowly.

Danzo stared at Ye Lan in utter disbelief! He had never expected Ye Lan to possess such backbone, enduring his Tsukuyomi for so long without showing any sign of suffering.

And that was not even the most important part. The most important thing was that Ye Lan had not uttered a single word from beginning to end. Danzo looked at Ye Lan in confusion. He could not figure out what had happened to him. By all logic, Ye Lan should not have fallen unconscious at this point, yet his current state clearly showed that he had passed out.

Danzo muttered inwardly, Something's wrong! Could there be a problem with my Tsukuyomi? It should only create an illusion for others; it shouldn't be able to kill anyone. But this brat... why has even his breathing grown so weak? Could he really be dead?

Danzo grumbled to himself, while Ye Lan showed no reaction whatsoever. In the end, Danzo had failed to interrogate anything out of him. He could not help frowning, then waved his hand and withdrew from the illusion.

Once the illusion was dispelled, he looked at Ye Lan lying on the ground in reality and said disdainfully, "What a pity. I still couldn't interrogate anything out of you. But since I couldn't uncover your identity, you can just die. At the very least, death is better than staying alive. If you live, you might bring harm to Konoha, or even negatively affect me. Since you can't be a friend, I can only let you die."

Danzo turned to open the door. Someone would naturally come deal with Ye Lan's corpse, so there was no need for him to concern himself with it. But when he turned and tried to leave, he found that the door was tightly shut. No matter how hard he tried, he could not open it.

Danzo frowned slightly and exerted more force, only to find that he still could not open it no matter what he did. Just as he was puzzled, Ye Lan's voice rang out behind him at the most inopportune moment.

"Stop struggling. No matter how much you struggle, it's useless. You can forget about opening this door, Lord Danzo."

Upon hearing this, Danzo slowly turned around, his face filled with shock. He suddenly discovered that Ye Lan had not died as he had expected. Instead, he stood before him completely unharmed. Danzo was too stunned to speak. Ye Lan looked at him and said, "Lord Danzo, heh heh, sorry to disappoint you by not dying."

Danzo said tremblingly, "How can you still be alive? In my Tsukuyomi, no matter how strong your willpower is, while you might not die, you should at least have been tortured into unconsciousness!"

Ye Lan glanced at Danzo disdainfully and said, "Is that really so? Do you think your pathetic genjutsu could truly nail me firmly to a pillar? Let me tell you, I could have gotten out whenever I wanted. I was merely waiting for the right moment."

Danzo's face was full of disbelief. He could not quite understand what Ye Lan meant.

"Waiting for the right moment?"

Ye Lan looked at Danzo with a smile that did not reach his eyes and said, "If you truly don't understand, then I might as well tell you."

"I only hope you won't be too shocked when you hear what I have to say."
