Using a Yaksha's bones and meridians as the foundation, then stuffing in the Soul Essence of an ordinary spirit beast. Even if the latter still retained control, the rejection between body and soul would continue for a very, very long time.
It could be said that the little fellow could no longer tell whether it was trembling from pain or fear.
More tragically, though its Soul Essence belonged to a normal spirit beast that could enjoy sunlight and rain, the Yaksha's bones and meridians were utterly incapable of living beneath the sun. Taking it away was therefore impossible.

Under Li Ye's caress, the little yellow dog whimpered, then suddenly clamped down on his finger. The Yaksha's teeth were extraordinarily sharp; even as a Soul Essence and an incarnation, he still felt the sting.
