Sasori left Sunagakure after killing the only witness to Third Kazekage Iron Sand’s death, and Iron Sand’s disappearance plunged the village into crisis. Chiyo united the divided leadership by choosing war against Konoha, while Seiji learned the Third Great Shinobi War had begun and called a war council.

  • Sasori killed the Anbu ninja who knew the truth about Iron Sand’s death, sealed both bodies in a scroll, and left Sunagakure as a rogue ninja.

Seiji led a Kirigakure council meeting and announced that Sunagakure’s Third Kazekage, Iron Sand, had gone missing. He suspected Iron Sand had been killed by someone in Sunagakure and remembered that Sasori would turn the Kazekage into a human puppet.

  • Suikazan Fuguki stood to announce Seiji’s arrival, and Kirigakure’s assembled leaders rose to show respect for their Mizukage.
  • Seiji began the meeting and reported that intelligence from the Land of Wind said Iron Sand had gone missing.

Ch. 383Kirigakure Meeting (Part 2)

Seiji and Kirigakure’s leaders finalized preparations for a war of conquest, beginning with Sunagakure and targeting the other villages afterward. Seiji hinted that he would make the daimyo support the war, leaving Kirigakure’s higher-ups to infer what he meant.

  • Yagura outlined a strategy to attack Sunagakure first, then target Kumogakure or Iwagakure before facing Konoha, while smaller villages would be dealt with along the way.
  • Yagura assigned the plan’s remaining details to the Defense Committee and identified Hanzō as the main obstacle in Amegakure, proposing a decapitation mission for Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan.
  • Kirigakure’s department heads reported on wartime preparations, including intelligence, mission rewards, chakra technology, medical support, and the village’s strong finances.
  • Elder Spring Rain asked whether Kirigakure needed the daimyo’s approval, then realized the village no longer depended on the Daimyo’s Palace.
  • Seiji said he would make the daimyo agree to the war, hinting at his intentions to Kirigakure’s higher-ups.

Ch. 385The Fall of Mount Myōboku (Part 1)
