Konoha decided to attack the Land of Wind alongside Hanzō of the Salamander, but Lord Wind’s survival and transfer of power denied Konoha a clear moral argument against Kirigakure.

• Hiruzen Sarutobi received Anbu intelligence indicating that Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze, and the Ino-Shika-Cho clan heads were likely gone.

Seiji returned to Kirigakure with most of his forces and assigned Nagato to capture the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails while he targeted Konoha's Nine-Tails.

• Hiruzen Sarutobi sent five thousand Konoha ninja to the border as Mitokado Homura traveled to negotiate with Hanzō of the Salamander.
• Third Raikage A learned that Kirigakure had destroyed Iwagakure and personally led Kumogakure forces in a surprise attack on the Land of Water.
• White Zetsu Clones reported Konoha and Kumogakure's movements to Seiji, who returned to Kirigakure with the remaining Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and most of his Chunin and Jonin.

• White Zetsu Clones reported the Cloud Forces’ movements to Kirigakure, which assembled its defenses in the north of the Land of Water.
• Third Raikage A ordered the Cloud Forces to disembark five kilometers from shore and charge toward Kirigakure.
• Uzumaki Shinji and Uzumaki Kana received Third Mizukage Hyou’s permission to operate the Chakra Cannons.
• The Uzumaki Clan poured their chakra into the cannons to bombard the approaching Cloud Forces.

Kirigakure ambushed Kumogakure’s fleet with continuous Chakra Cannon fire, and Third Raikage A charged the Hidden Mist Forces before Mei Terumi intercepted him. Meanwhile, Nagato and Black Zetsu entered Kumogakure and found Killer B.

• Uzumaki Shinji and Uzumaki Kana unleashed wave after wave of Chakra Cannon fire on the Cloud Forces at sea.
• Third Raikage A pushed his Lightning Release Chakra Mode to maximum and charged alone toward the Hidden Mist Forces.
• A attacked with Hell Stab: One-Finger Nukite, but Mei Terumi met him with Boil Release: Super Strength Unmatched.
• Nagato and Black Zetsu entered Kumogakure using a White Zetsu Clone’s Mayfly Technique and found Killer B rapping.

Nagato confronted Killer B in Kumogakure and attacked him to capture the Eight-Tails. Killer B blocked Nagato’s opening assault, but his swords shattered, and Gyūki warned that the Cloud Ninja would soon respond.

• Killer B rapped for nearby villagers until Nagato identified him as the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki.
• Nagato revealed his Rinnegan, and Gyūki warned Killer B that Nagato was targeting him.
