The car drove into an estate on the outskirts of Florence. A long road and vast lawns stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with several enormous trees. The manor castle was broad and imposing, built in the style of classical Italian architecture. It was itself a work of art, with a history of more than two hundred years. Renaissance-style decorative sculptures adorned every corner of the castle.

Behind the estate lay an enormous garden, filled with fountains, pools, and sculptures of every shape and design. Many of those statues were masterpieces that could have served as the crown jewels of a museum, priceless works displayed here merely as garden ornaments. Any art lover who saw them would surely cry out at such waste.

Farther beyond the estate was a hilly mountain range, green as far as the eye could see. That too was part of the castle estate.

Jane walked into the bathroom. After bathing, she felt much refreshed. When she emerged in a bathrobe, two maids immediately came over to dry her hair.

Sitting before the vanity mirror, Jane looked at herself, but her mind was filled with what had happened the previous night.
