Sweat beaded on the director's forehead. Fuck, if those substations were destroyed, all of Los Angeles would be plunged into darkness. Who knew how many terrible things would happen tonight?

A massive blackout could easily trigger countless robberies, arson attacks, vandalism, looting, and even full-scale riots. There were plenty of precedents. At the thought of it, the director felt a chill run through his entire body.
"Report this to the mayor immediately. Contact the National Guard, the FBI, and the Ability User Affairs Bureau. We need support!"
Just as everyone was about to move, the lights in the building suddenly flickered. Then, with a snap, the entire lobby plunged into darkness. The emergency lights came on the next second.
Someone shouted, "Look outside! The whole city has lost power!"
Everyone hurried to the windows and saw vast swaths of the city falling into darkness.
Many people's hearts trembled. The Night Demon King was probably about to descend!
The helicopter sped toward the outskirts, where a large substation appeared ahead. Without hesitation, it dove straight at the electrical facilities.
Boom!
The aircraft plunged into the electrical equipment area. Its massive rotor blades instantly shredded the surrounding power lines, while huge electrical sparks burst from the wire connections like brilliant fireworks. Then the helicopter slammed into a tower and shattered completely, and leaking fuel triggered an explosion.
A massive fireball rose into the sky, sparks flying everywhere. The substation's power system was immediately destroyed, cutting off electricity to the districts served by that line.
The same thing happened at the other three substations. The helicopters tore the facilities apart. One substation even caught fire, and its control room burned down. It would probably take several days to restore it.
These four were major hub substations, covering more than
