After crossing the river, Fa Hai did not fly. He traveled east on foot, crossing mountains and rivers, begging for alms and chanting scriptures, like an ascetic monk.
As dusk approached that day, Fa Hai saw lights ahead. Drawing closer, he discovered a large inn beside the mountain. The inn had three wooden floors, covered a considerable area, and was beautifully decorated. A string of lanterns hung from the flagpole, bearing the words "Miaolai Hotel."
Fa Hai's expression shifted.
"There is Demonic Aura!"
A sharp gleam flashed in his eyes as he activated his Heavenly Eye. Besides human aura, he saw dense Demonic Aura within the hotel. Clearly, demons had taken up residence here.
"Hmph. I shall enter this demon den and investigate."
Fa Hai strode forward and pushed open the inn's doors. The lobby was brightly lit, music filled the air, and people clamored loudly. It was exceptionally lively.
More than a dozen tables of guests sat in small groups throughout the hall. At the front stood a raised platform, where over a dozen beautiful dancers with seductive figures and extremely revealing clothes danced gracefully. The people below continually judged which dancer was prettier and discussed which one they would choose to sleep with that night.
A shifty-eyed attendant came over with a smile. "Ah, a master. Master, would you like a room, some wine, or a girl?"
"This poor monk is seeking alms," Fa Hai said calmly.
The attendant's face changed. He scowled and said impatiently, "Alms? Go on, get out of here. We only serve customers. This isn't a place for monks to beg."
"People's eyes are blinded by money, and their greed knows no bounds. You must know that only by doing good and accumulating virtue can you receive blessings," Fa Hai said softly.
