The car stopped beneath the apartment building. Jiang Hao and Marilyn opened the door and saw the three little raccoons sitting in a neat row on the floor, their tiny eyes darting around as they watched them.
"Jon, they're welcoming you," Marilyn said with a smile.
"Welcoming me? I think they want presents."
Jiang Hao waved at the three little fellows. They jumped over, and he reached into his pocket. When he pulled his hand out again, there were several gummy candies in it. He gave each raccoon two. The three little fellows grabbed one candy in each paw and stuffed them into their mouths.
Smack, smack.
Having gotten delicious gummy candies, the three little fellows were finally satisfied.
Jiang Hao looked at Marilyn. "Do you know what gift I brought back for you?"
Marilyn shook her head, her big eyes wide.
"I got some money. I'm going to make a movie for you," Jiang Hao said.
Marilyn was instantly stunned. She looked at Jiang Hao in disbelief. "Jon, are you serious?"
"Of course I am. I've got the money ready, and just now, I suddenly came up with a pretty good movie idea," Jiang Hao said.
"What idea?" Marilyn asked, looking up at him.
"It's only a rough idea for now. It still needs arranging and polishing. I'll tell you once I've worked out the whole story structure," Jiang Hao said.
Marilyn slowly lowered her head and rested it on Jiang Hao's thigh again. "Jon, I know making movies takes a lot, a lot of money, and right now, I don't have any confidence at all."
