Background

Jiang Hao began as a financially struggling university graduate working in Anxinda Insurance Company's sales department. With overdue rent, an imminent performance review, and little money remaining, he was diligent but unable to secure enough sales. After receiving the Collection System from the “Second Universe World,” he resigned from the company and began traveling through mission worlds 1 5.

His encounters with supernatural worlds led him into Daoist cultivation. Old Daoist Hong Lu accepted him into the Maoshan lineage and bestowed the Daoist name Jiang Dingyang, chosen for Jiang Hao's “pure Yang of the Five Elements” 524. Hong Lu later taught him the Five Thunder Method and Heavenly Eye technique to address the malevolent energy left by Jiang Hao's past actions 525.

Although he repeatedly assumes identities supplied by the System, Jiang Hao generally retains his own body and appearance. Near the end of his travels, Emperor Qin Guan reveals that Jiang Hao is the reincarnation of Jiu Hua, Sage Taiqing's disciple. Jiang Hao accepts the revelation but chooses to live according to the path he has made as Jiang Hao 1206 1879.

Appearance

Jiang Hao is tall, broad-shouldered, and athletically built, with defined muscles rather than a bodybuilder's bulk. His usual appearance includes black hair, deep bright eyes, and a composed, mature bearing 28 98 1172.

  • Possesses a defined chest, six-pack abs, and a lean, powerful physique 28.
  • Is commonly described as exceptionally handsome, even when placed in identities from other worlds 56 998.
  • Can alter his styling and mannerisms for disguises, including facial hair, altered posture, colored contact lenses, and period-appropriate clothing 619 869 984.
  • Frequently wears Daoist robes when acting as a Maoshan priest or Feng Shui master 1711 1717.
  • Manifests ethereal blue Sword Wings after refining them into an Immortal Artifact 1849.

Personality

Jiang Hao is steady, composed, and practical. As a young graduate, he worked hard despite poverty and refused to exploit relatives or friends for money 1. His reserved nature contrasts with more outgoing friends such as Ji Yunxi, but he is capable of relaxed humor, teasing, and confidence when the situation calls for it 95 98.

He is intensely acquisitive about knowledge, treating every skill, manual, and spell as potentially useful. His eidetic memory, unblocked meridians, and System rewards let him learn at an extraordinary pace, but he still trains repeatedly to turn raw power into usable techniques 1131 1574. His personal motto is: “It’s good to have many skills!” 1447.

Jiang Hao can be persuasive, deceptive, and ruthless. He has adopted false identities, manipulated hostile groups, tortured enemies for information, and killed those he judges to be persistent threats 140 1144. However, he also refuses corrupt favors, judges humans and monsters by their actions rather than origin, and seeks to direct his wealth and authority toward family, cultivation, and long-term projects 1425 1426 783 1306.

Daoist Cultivation and Talismans

Jiang Hao practices Maoshan and Laoshan Daoist arts, with particular strength in talismans, lightning methods, formations, and exorcism.

Thunder Magic

Jiang Hao's lightning arts are among his strongest offensive techniques.

  • Improved his lightning affinity after being struck by Thor's lightning, increasing the ease and force of his summoned thunder 1401.

Martial Arts and Physical Combat

Jiang Hao combines modern combat training, martial arts, firearms expertise, and superhuman physical enhancements.

  • Possesses advanced free combat ability, military training, spearplay, saber techniques, swordsmanship, archery, marksmanship, and hidden-weapon techniques 95 430 1206.
  • Learned Lightness Skill by channeling Spiritual Power through his meridians, allowing rapid leaps, rooftop movement, and travel across water 1131 1316.
  • Rapidly mastered One-Word Electric Sword, Swift Thunder Sword, Sky Full of Flowers, and acupoint-striking techniques 1131.
