A Fate Worse Than Death
The car stopped at an estate on the outskirts. Noodles and Jiang Hao got out together, and the people inside immediately opened the door when they saw them arrive.
"He's inside," the Mafia leader said.

Inside the room, Jiang Hao finally saw the habitual thief. He remembered this man's appearance clearly from the movie. Though the guy's face was bruised, he was certain it was him.
The man was tied to a chair. When he saw people enter, he kept studying them, fear in his eyes. Jiang Hao stared at him coldly. "What's your name?"
"M-My name is Elmo," Elmo said tremulously.
He had no idea why the Mafia had captured him. When he learned that the Mafia was looking for him everywhere, he had nearly pissed himself in fright. Panicked and at a loss, he had hidden away like a rat in its hole.
But one should never underestimate the underworld's ability to find someone. He had hidden for nearly a month, but in the end, one of his friends had betrayed him. The Mafia captured him, nailed him inside a crate, and brought him back to New York from Syracuse.
Looking at the sleazy man, Jiang Hao felt somewhat disgusted. "Do you know Andy, a banker?"
Elmo paused slightly, then quickly shook his head. "No, I don't know him."
