The Academy Awards had finally begun, and everyone became focused.

Award after award was presented. When it finally came to Best Screenplay, Jiang Hao heard his own name. "The Courtesan has been nominated for Best Screenplay."

"The winner of Best Original Screenplay is The Red Balloon."

Jiang Hao was slightly disappointed, but it did not really matter.

When it came to Best Song, Jiang Hao's name was called again. The theme song "Strong and Powerful" from The Courtesan had been nominated for Best Song.

"Best Song, 'Strong and Powerful,' Jon Hall. Congratulations, Director Hall," said the presenter.

"Clap clap clap!"

Everyone applauded. Marilyn stood and embraced Jiang Hao. "Congratulations, darling." No matter what, they had gained something tonight. That alone was already rare enough.

The ceremony continued. Two hours had already passed, and they had finally reached the last major awards. These were what everyone cared about most, and what Jiang Hao and Marilyn had been waiting for most eagerly.

"Best Director~~~~ Jon Hall, Some Like It Hot."

Jiang Hao froze. He had not expected to win for Some Like It Hot rather than The Courtesan.

Everyone from Hall Company and the crews of both films stood to congratulate him. Jiang Hao shook hands and embraced them before taking the stage once again to accept the award.

"Next is the Best Actress award. Please welcome our presenter." The moment Marilyn heard "Best Actress," her heart immediately tightened, and she gripped Jiang Hao's hand hard.
