Buying a House

The number was unfamiliar, with no record. Jiang Hao assumed it was some advertising call and hung up.

These days, they were either selling liquor or tea, pitching houses or storefronts, and occasionally asking whether you needed a loan.

The phone rang again.

"Hello!"

"Hello, is this Mr. Jiang? I'm your landlord. My surname is Liu." A man's voice came from the other end.

The landlord?

"It's like this. I need to discuss something with you. I'm planning to sell the apartment you're currently renting, so please find another place yourself," the man said.

Jiang Hao frowned when he heard that. "But my lease isn't up yet. We signed a two-year contract, and it hasn't even been a year."

"Mr. Jiang, let's try to understand each other. I'll only collect rent through the end of this month, and I'll return the remaining rent to you. Move out by the end of the month." The man's tone hardened somewhat.
