A Hole in One
Zhou Xinyan moved quickly. Within just a few days, she registered a new company called "Haofang Technology" as a subsidiary of Haoran Technology, transferred Haoran Technology's original gaming business over to it, and incorporated several of Jiang Hao's technologies.
Meanwhile, Q-Tencent sent people over for their first formal meeting with Haoran Technology. Both sides submitted letters of intent, and Q-Tencent's people also took several software programs provided by Jiang Hao back for further evaluation and testing.
A deal involving tens of billions of US dollars could never be decided overnight. Over the following month, the negotiation teams from both sides held three formal talks. Each side presented its intentions while probing the other's bottom line.
Inside Haoran Technology's office, Jiang Hao and Zhou Xinyan were discussing the negotiations.
"Q-Tencent is currently offering 7.5 billion US dollars, while we've quoted 12 billion. The gap between us is still enormous," Zhou Xinyan said.
"A business worth tens of billions isn't that simple. We'll take it slowly. It'll be good enough if we can reach a general agreement before the New Year. There's still a month until then. If it doesn't work out, we can continue after the holiday," Jiang Hao said.
Just then, Jiang Hao's phone rang. He picked it up and saw Ma Teng's name on the screen. He gestured to Zhou Xinyan, then answered warmly. "Hello, Boss Ma."
"President Jiang, I heard the negotiations have been going fairly smoothly. I hope our two companies can reach a partnership soon," Boss Ma said with a smile.
"I think that won't be a problem," Jiang Hao said.
"President Jiang, I'm in Shenzhen. I'm calling to invite you to visit our Q-Tencent headquarters. Interested?" Boss Ma asked.
Jiang Hao knew the invitation was certainly more than a simple tour.
