Before the next day even arrived, Masahiko could no longer restrain his urge to show off and went looking for Tobirama.
After hearing his purpose, Tobirama looked helpless.
"Second Grandfather, you... learned Forging?"
"What do you mean, learned? I already knew how! Look at these two Shuriken—they were forged by me." Masahiko felt insulted.
Tobirama looked at the two Shuriken in Masahiko's hand. They appeared utterly ordinary, no different from standard-issue Shuriken.
That was what Tobirama thought, and that was exactly what he said. "Aren't these just ordinary standard-issue Shuriken?"
"Look carefully! Stare at them! Open your eyes wide and look!" Masahiko said angrily as he poured Chakra into the Shuriken. A dazzling light immediately burst from them.
"Can you see clearly now?" Masahiko asked Tobirama smugly.
"Uh... I can't see anything now." Tobirama rubbed his eyes and gave a helpless bitter smile.
Masahiko: "..."
In short, after two hours of various demonstrations, Tobirama finally, albeit reluctantly, believed that Masahiko really knew Forging.
"Second Grandfather, you said you wanted to forge me a sword. That's fine, but it's already late. The forging workshop should be closing, so let's go tomorrow," Tobirama said helplessly.
"It's fine. It hasn't closed yet. We'll go now, and they can close after we're done," Masahiko said with a smile.
Seeing that he could not put it off any longer, Tobirama could only helplessly follow Masahiko.
However, halfway there, a Chunin stopped them.
"Lord Tobirama, the Clan Head is looking for you!"
Tobirama's face lit up with delight, while Masahiko looked utterly helpless. He followed Tobirama to the Clan Head's Main Hall, determined to see what Hashirama wanted at such a late hour.
"Tobirama, you're here," Hashirama said. "There was an accident at the forging workshop just now."
"What happened, Big Brother?" Tobirama asked in confusion.
"One of the furnaces exploded. It seems someone previously sliced a crack into it with a sharp weapon."
Masahiko's face immediately darkened.
Seeing the change in Masahiko's expression, Hashirama helplessly asked, "Second Grandfather, it wasn't you, was it...?"
"I... did it by accident." Masahiko sounded somewhat guilty.
"Forget it. Fortunately, only two blacksmiths suffered minor injuries. Just be more careful next time..." Hashirama could not bring himself to blame Masahiko.
"Mm, I'll be more careful... I'll go treat those two blacksmiths." After saying that, Masahiko was too embarrassed to keep dragging Tobirama off to forge a sword.
Once Masahiko had gone far away, Tobirama let out a sigh of relief.
"Big Brother, Second Grandfather insists on forging me a sword. I..."
"It's fine, Tobirama. At worst, we can just melt it down and forge it again." Hashirama had no way to dissuade Masahiko, so he could only console Tobirama like this.
Sure enough, early the next morning, Masahiko found Tobirama again and dragged him to the forging workshop.
Tobirama looked helplessly at Masahiko. "Second Grandfather, you could just give it to me after you finish forging it. Why did you have to drag me here?"
"How could that be the same?" Masahiko glared at Tobirama. "Watching your own weapon being forged feels different."
"What difference could there be..." Tobirama wanted to say more, but Masahiko had already gotten busy.
Tobirama had no choice but to watch from the side. As he watched, he gradually relaxed. Masahiko's forging was clearly much more methodical than it had been a few days ago. It no longer looked chaotic; instead, it possessed a strange sort of beauty.
"Beauty? I must be going crazy..." Tobirama muttered.
Half a day passed, and Masahiko forged a sword. At least in Tobirama's eyes, it was an extremely successful sword.
"Take it and give it a try!" Masahiko handed the sword to Tobirama.
Tobirama took the sword and gave it a few test swings. He nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad. It handles well, and the weight is just right."
Masahiko handed him a Kunai. "Try cutting this. Don't worry, it won't break."
Tobirama nodded and slashed at the Kunai with the sword. The Kunai snapped in two.
"What a sharp weapon!" Tobirama exclaimed, delight on his face.
"A sharp weapon? This is a divine weapon!" Masahiko took the sword back, his face flushed as he poured more than half of his Lightning Release Chakra into it.
"Now it's truly finished."
Tobirama took the sword again and tried channeling Chakra into it. The blade immediately emitted a dazzling white light.
Tobirama's face darkened. Dazzling white light again...
Before he could ask whether Masahiko had developed some strange fondness for white light, Tobirama felt as though the sword in his hand could cut through anything.
"Come on, let's go to Training Ground 1 and test the sword." Seeing Tobirama's hesitation, Masahiko spoke first.
When the two arrived at Training Ground 1, Masahiko explained, "The blade has been transformed into a sword of light by the massive amount of Lightning Release Chakra I infused into it. It can block most jutsu. Anyone struck by it will be shocked and paralyzed throughout their body, and it can cut through anything. The blade can be extended and retracted freely. When not in use, it can be retracted into the hilt, making it easy to carry."
Upon hearing this, Tobirama tried retracting the blade and found that he could indeed do so.
"It can block most jutsu?" Tobirama still did not quite believe it.
"Let's try it! Rasengan!" Masahiko formed a Rasengan and attacked Tobirama.
Tobirama swung his sword, and it truly cut the Rasengan apart.
"It can directly defend against an A-rank jutsu?" Tobirama said in shock.
"Not just A-rank. Great Ball Rasengan!"
Tobirama instinctively swung his sword, splitting the Great Ball Rasengan in half as well.
"And there are non-energy attacks like these too—Wind Release: Pressure Damage! Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet!"
Tobirama cut through them one by one. Seeing Masahiko preparing to continue, he hurriedly stopped him.
"That's enough, Second Grandfather. Why do I feel like you're using me to practice jutsu? Just attack me with your strongest jutsu!"
"Strongest jutsu?" Masahiko revealed a wicked smile. "Are you sure?"
Tobirama sensed that something was wrong, but he had great confidence in the sword in his hand. Besides, he had seen Masahiko's strongest jutsu during the battle with Kaguya and believed he could withstand it.
"Sage Art: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!" Masahiko shouted, throwing Naruto's signature jutsu.
Tobirama looked as if he had seen a ghost. "Second Grandfather, are you trying to kill me?!" How could he dare take it head-on? He hurriedly used the Flying Thunder God Technique to evade.
The Rasenshuriken Masahiko threw destroyed more than half of the Senju Clan's Training Ground 1, but Masahiko was not particularly satisfied.
"Sure enough, its power is far inferior to Hashirama's Attack on the Gods..."
Tobirama instantly appeared beside Masahiko, his face pitch-black.
"All right, don't be angry." Masahiko smiled. "Who told you to disrespect your Second Grandfather, you brat, and dare me to attack you with my strongest jutsu?"
"Are you satisfied with your new weapon? Give it a name!"
Tobirama calmed himself and said, "I'm satisfied. Since it has Lightning Release Chakra infused into it, let's call it the Thunder God Sword..."
I was waiting for you to say that!
A familiar line of Chinese characters flashed through Masahiko's eyes.
Witnessed and completely altered a Naruto World side storyline: Thunder God Sword. Obtained 2 (*10) Witness Points.
Completely altered? Times ten?
Right, this Thunder God Sword won't be shattered by Naruto and Sasuke's Rasengan and Chidori like it was in the original!
This time, I struck it rich!
