Ch. 242Falling Behind

Masahiko visited Kushina before heading to the Land of Rain to check on his disciples and practice Space Ninjutsu. He reached Konoha’s battlefield camp, where he saw Tsunade treating the wounded and Shikaku Nara directing missions.

  • Masahiko sent Kushina to the Land of Whirlpools with a summoned Slug so she could alert him if it came under threat.
  • Masahiko used spatial nodes and repeated Flash Techniques to travel toward the Land of Rain, exhausting much of his Chakra along the way.
  • Masahiko sensed Konoha’s encampment and secretly entered its medical tent, where Tsunade and other medical ninja treated nearly a hundred wounded soldiers.
  • Masahiko saw Sakumo enter the command tent to report to Shikaku Nara and receive another assignment.
  • Masahiko studied Shikaku’s detailed battlefield mission classifications and reflected that he was falling behind the times.

Ch. 243The Chivalrous Thief on the Battlefield

Masahiko visited Konoha’s battlefield, saw Nagato’s growth, and set out to disrupt Sunagakure by stealing its equipment through his Space Ninjutsu. After emptying the supply tent, he wondered whether his actions would count as changing the course of the war.

  • Sakumo sensed Masahiko watching him, and Shikaku realized Masahiko was nearby before Masahiko revealed himself.
  • Masahiko learned that Konoha was advancing through the Land of Rain and that Shikaku had prepared for Iwagakure’s movements.
  • Masahiko found his disciples after Nagato and Konan defeated an enemy squad, then praised Nagato’s progress and told the others to return to camp.
  • Masahiko crossed the battlefield, stealing Kunai and puppets from Sunagakure ninja as he headed for their camp.
  • Masahiko stole medicine, weapons, food, puppets, and Explosive Tags from Sunagakure’s hospital and supply tents.

Ch. 244Feeling Completely Drained

Masahiko returned from the Land of Rain after stripping Sunagakure of its weapons and provisions, forcing its forces to retreat. He offered the spoils to Hiruzen, then discovered that his Sleeve Universe had also released Fat Cat and a tree, leaving him devastated.

  • Masahiko reassured Shikaku, Sakumo, and his disciples that Sunagakure had suffered heavy losses and would retreat.
  • As they traveled back to Konoha, Konan asked why the war had to take place in the Land of Rain, and Masahiko dodged the question.
  • Masahiko told Hiruzen and Danzo that he had used Sleeve Universe to take Sunagakure's weapons and provisions, then offered to sell the supplies to Konoha at cost.
  • Masahiko emptied his space outside the Hokage Office Building, and Fat Cat emerged among the supplies and bit his leg for leaving it hungry.
  • Hiruzen asked about a tree among the released belongings, and Masahiko realized the tree had come from his space, which contained 256 nodes.

Ch. 245Talking Business

Masahiko settled his disciples and visited Nawaki’s family before returning to research Space Ninjutsu. Three days later, Hiruzen arrived to negotiate a deal for weapons and provisions now that Iwagakure had entered the war.

  • Masahiko accepted Hiruzen’s payment for the damaged tree, then returned to the Senju Clan Compound with Fat Cat.

Ch. 246Chapter 246

Masahiko learned that Sunagakure had joined Iwagakure in fighting Konoha and went to ask the Hyuga Family for help. He revealed his identity to Hiashi and brought him into the Eight Trigrams Space, where Hiashi recognized its connection to the Hyuga legends.

  • Hiruzen told Masahiko that Sunagakure had resumed fighting alongside Iwagakure and asked him to persuade the Hyuga Family to join the war.
  • Masahiko learned that the Third Kazekage and Sasori of the Red Sands had disappeared, then decided to visit the Hyuga grounds first.
  • Masahiko entered the Hyuga compound disguised as Boss Hagoromo from the Taobao Shop and joked to two clansmen that he had come to deliver Liu Wei Di Huang Wan.
  • Masahiko revealed his true identity to Hiashi, who asked whether Masahiko's daughter was adopted.
  • Masahiko took Hiashi into the Eight Trigrams Space and explained that he had gained it by mastering the Hyuga Family's Gentle Fist.
  • Hiashi recognized the space and recalled the legend that mastering Bagua Two Hundred Fifty-Six Palms could shatter space.

Ch. 247Lost Inheritance

Masahiko offered the Hyuga Clan a way to restore its lost Bagua Palms inheritance by sharing the locations of his 256 spatial nodes. After confirming that the nodes matched the known 64 Palms acupoint diagram, he left the Hyuga brothers to research the lost sequences and urged them to send fighters to the Land of Rain.

  • Hiashi explained that the Hyuga Clan had lost knowledge of its original Bagua Palms techniques, including the true 128 Palms and the 256 Palms.
  • Masahiko offered to share his 256 spatial-node locations in exchange for copies of the Hyuga Clan’s ninjutsu and secret techniques, and Hiashi agreed to consult the elders.
  • Masahiko drew a diagram of the spatial nodes and compared them with the Bagua Palms sequence while waiting for Hiashi.
  • Hiashi returned with Hizashi, who confirmed the deal on behalf of the Branch Family elders, and the brothers recognized that Masahiko’s nodes matched the 64 Palms acupoint diagram.
  • Masahiko gave the diagram to Hiashi and Hizashi, told them to send him the restored sequences, and urged them to send fighters to the Land of Rain.

Ch. 248Promise

Masahiko trained in Space Ninjutsu and Dust Release while waiting for news from the Hyuga brothers, then discussed Sara’s possible move to the Land of Whirlpools and warned Obito about the dangers of the battlefield. The chapter ended with Masahiko promising to take Obito to see the war in half a year if it continued.

  • Masahiko’s Dust Release nearly injured Fat Cat when Sara interrupted his training, so he brought the cat out of his space and decided to keep it at home.
  • Sara told Masahiko that Teuchi wanted her to manage an Ichiraku Ramen branch in the Land of Whirlpools, but she did not want to leave Konoha.
  • Masahiko teased Sara about having a suitor, then told her to refuse Teuchi’s request and let him find another solution.
  • Obito visited Masahiko and asked whether he had gone to the battlefield, prompting Masahiko to tease him with stories about Kakashi Hatake.
  • Masahiko warned Obito that the battlefield was dangerous and promised to take him there in half a year if the war lasted that long.

Ch. 249Maybe the Enemy Is an Idiot

  • Masahiko praised Konan's progress and warned her not to rely only on her stockpile of Explosive Tags.
  • Mikoto brought Itachi to see Masahiko after the baby learned to call for her, and Masahiko joked about giving him early childhood education and offering him dried fish.
  • Masahiko reflected on his training and the stalemate in the Land of Rain, then set out to investigate Kirigakure.

Ch. 250Mizukage Tournament

Masahiko traveled to Kirigakure to investigate the Mizukage, but found that mission postings were delayed and learned the village was holding a competition to select the Fourth Mizukage. He settled in at an inn, wondering what the tournament involved.

  • Masahiko told Sara he was going to Kirigakure, put Fat Cat into his space, and eventually flew across the desert after its nodes failed to take him where he wanted.
  • Masahiko disguised himself as an ordinary middle-aged man, carried Fat Cat into Kirigakure, and learned that he would have to wait ten days to post a mission.
  • Masahiko searched the village for an inn and found it crowded with people eating and staying there.
  • Masahiko shared a table with a young man, who explained that Kirigakure was holding matches to select the Fourth Mizukage and had no time to handle missions.

Ch. 251The Shark-Faced Kid

Masahiko learned about Kirigakure’s competition to choose the Fourth Mizukage and attended the public event, expecting the succession to earn him Witness Points. At the venue, he spotted an old acquaintance near Suikazan Fuguki.

  • Masahiko questioned a young man about the Mizukage competition, learned that several of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen would participate, and discovered it would take place in three days.
  • Masahiko heard how Kirigakure’s persecution of Kekkei Genkai clans followed the war with the Land of Whirlpools, earning Witness Points for changing the Bloody Mist Village storyline.
  • Masahiko spent the next three days posing as a civilian and chatting with locals, then told a boy he planned to watch the competition.
  • Masahiko entered Kirigakure’s sealed competition venue with Fat Cat and noticed an acquaintance standing near Suikazan Fuguki.

Ch. 252Legal Loli

Masahiko entered a Kirigakure gathering, hid a ninja who demanded protection money, and joined Suikazan Fuguki’s group of wealthy spectators. As the event filled, he recognized Zabuza Momochi and Yagura among the young arrivals.

  • A Kirigakure ninja demanded 1 million ryo from Masahiko, so Masahiko sent him into his spatial space and pretended he had vanished after taking 2 million.
  • Suikazan Fuguki sent several ninja to search for the missing Hasso and allowed Masahiko to join the protected merchants.
  • Kisame explained the viewing precautions to the merchants, while Masahiko teased him about his shark-like appearance.
  • Zabuza Momochi arrived, and Kisame told Masahiko that Zabuza had slaughtered the prospective graduates in his graduation examination.
  • Yagura arrived, and Masahiko recognized him as a boy around eleven or twelve years old.

Ch. 253Chilled to the Bone

Masahiko watched Ringo Ameyuri and Suikazan Fuguki’s match, teasing Fuguki by redirecting stray attacks toward him while observing Ao’s Byakugan. The fight continued as Fuguki grew increasingly exasperated with Masahiko’s commentary.

  • Masahiko waited for familiar faces, then watched Ringo Ameyuri and Triangle Head provoke each other before their match.
  • Ringo Ameyuri struck toward Masahiko with Lightning Fang, but Suikazan Fuguki blocked the lightning with Samehada.
  • Ao arrived, officially started the match, and revealed his activated Byakugan as Masahiko wondered whether it had exposed the Third Mizukage’s control.
  • Triangle Head began using ninjutsu after losing the taijutsu exchange, and Masahiko redirected stray attacks toward Suikazan Fuguki, who blocked them with Samehada.
  • Suikazan Fuguki yelled at Masahiko to stop, but Masahiko warned him about another Great Waterfall as Kisame shouted for him to watch out.

Ch. 254Banner

Masahiko watched Ringo Ameyuri defeat Triangle Head while Suikazan Fuguki endured stray attacks and the spectators’ praise, then returned to the venue the next morning to cheer for Fuguki. Meanwhile, Chiyo and Ebizo prepared Sasori’s puppets for use against Konoha, and Chiyo vowed to bear the consequences if Uzumaki Masahiko joined the war.

  • Masahiko watched Suikazan Fuguki get hit by stray attacks and teased Kisame while Fuguki tried to protect the spectators.
  • Ao announced that Ringo Ameyuri had defeated Triangle Head, and Masahiko used genjutsu to slip away amid the merchants’ gratitude.
  • Masahiko returned to the inn, left the captured Kirigakure ninja trapped in his space, and began tinkering with items from his Sealing Scroll.
  • Chiyo and Ebizo examined two puppets Sasori had left for Sunagakure, and Chiyo insisted she would bear the consequences if Uzumaki Masahiko entered the war.
  • Masahiko returned to the fighting venue carrying a banner that read “Lord Suikazan Fuguki Will Surely Win” and asked Kisame to hold it.

Ch. 255Teased into Madness

Masahiko’s banner teasing disrupted Suikazan Fuguki’s fight against Hozuki Hangetsu until Fuguki unleashed a massive water attack on the arena. Meanwhile, Jiraiya escaped the Land of Rain battlefield with an injured comrade as Sakumo confronted Chiyo, and Masahiko sheltered Kisame from the flood.

  • Masahiko watched ninjas bring banners to support Fuguki and Hozuki Hangetsu before their battle began.
  • Masahiko taunted Kisame about Fuguki’s disadvantage, then shouted that Fuguki must win and distracted him into taking a water cannon hit.
  • Jiraiya entered Sage Mode against Chiyo and Ebizo, then retreated with an unconscious, gravely injured comrade when Sakumo arrived to hold off Chiyo.
  • Fuguki blamed Masahiko for provoking him and unleashed Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave, flooding the arena.
  • Masahiko stopped the water from reaching him and Kisame, then told Kisame to stay while Fuguki attacked indiscriminately.

Ch. 256Who Died?

Masahiko caused chaos in Kirigakure, captured several ninja, and took Ao’s Byakugan before leaving to check on Tsunade. The Slug then told him that someone had died, and Masahiko reacted in disbelief.

  • Masahiko stopped Kisame from stabbing him and watched Suikazan Fuguki concede his fight with Hozuki Hangetsu.
  • Ao mistook Masahiko for Roshi, the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, and Kirigakure’s ninja surrounded him.
  • Masahiko fired a Tailed Beast Bomb at Ao, collapsed the arena, and captured the gate guard and Ringo Ameyuri in his space.
  • Masahiko obtained Ao’s Byakugan and left Kirigakure with Fat Cat, planning to return and see Hozuki Hangetsu become Fourth Mizukage.
  • The Slug summoned Masahiko, who cried out in shock after hearing that someone had died.

Ch. 257Severed Arm and Death

Masahiko reached Konoha’s camp in the Land of Rain and learned that Kenji Senju had died while Sakumo had lost an arm and been poisoned. After treating Sakumo, Masahiko mourned Kenji and began considering how he might restore the severed arm.

  • Masahiko flew to the Land of Rain and found Orochimaru carrying an unconscious Sakumo, whose right arm had been severed.
  • At camp, Masahiko treated Sakumo’s poison while Tsunade grieved beside Kenji’s corpse and Nawaki arrived to mourn his father.
  • Sakumo woke and explained that he had cut off his own arm after Ebizo poisoned it, but Chiyo had destroyed the severed limb.
  • Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Kagami recounted how Chiyo and Ebizo had intercepted their squad and how the Sunagakure main force forced Konoha to retreat.
  • Masahiko healed Sakumo’s wounds but could not regrow his arm, then hinted to Orochimaru that another solution might exist.

Ch. 258Burial

After Kenji and six Senju members died in a battlefield defeat, Masahiko helped bring the wounded home and bury them in Konoha. He learned that the Senju clan’s population was dwindling because its members were having trouble producing descendants, and planned to investigate.

  • Masahiko comforted Nawaki and Tsunade, ordered Dōzan to gather the Senju clansmen, and helped treat the wounded before Hiruzen arrived at camp.
  • The next day, Masahiko, the Senju ninja, Sakumo, Kakashi, and Tsunade escorted Kenji’s body back to Konoha.
  • Tsunade told Masahiko that the Senju clan’s fertility had weakened across generations, and Masahiko promised to investigate after the funeral.
  • Danzo said Sakumo’s severed arm could not be regrown, so Masahiko considered seeking a prosthetic from Yuna or help from Orochimaru.
  • Masahiko and Danzo arranged Kenji’s burial, and Masahiko carved the names of the seven fallen Senju on Konoha’s Hero Memorial.
  • Seeing the small number of surviving Senju clansmen, Masahiko resolved to make them have children before returning to the battlefield.

Ch. 259Taking the Initiative

Masahiko examined the Senju for signs of unusual changes while Goka tried to arrange marriages for Dōzan and Tsunade. After Sunagakure withdrew, Masahiko returned to his space, found Ringo Ameyuri alive, and invited her to join Akatsuki.

  • Goka tried to find a wife for Dōzan and urged Tsunade to marry Jiraiya, while Masahiko supported her.
  • Hiruzen returned from the Land of Rain battlefield with Fat Cat and reported that Sunagakure had withdrawn.
  • Hiruzen asked when Kushina could return to Konoha, and Masahiko agreed she could return after Minato came back.
  • Masahiko returned to his space and found two male ninja dead and Ringo Ameyuri unconscious from hunger.
  • Ringo Ameyuri attacked Masahiko with the Lightning Blade, then stopped resisting when he caught it.
  • Masahiko invited Ringo Ameyuri to join Akatsuki.

Ch. 260Spy

Masahiko recruited Ringo Ameyuri to infiltrate Akatsuki as a spy, promising medicine to repair the damage caused by her Lightning Release training. After sending her away to pose as a rogue ninja and bounty hunter, he received Witness Points for altering the Fourth Mizukage storyline.

  • Masahiko explained that he wanted Ringo Ameyuri to join Akatsuki and gather intelligence, especially about its leader.
  • Masahiko told Ringo that her Lightning Release training had damaged her body and that she might die by forty, then offered her medicine if she joined Akatsuki.
  • Ringo agreed to trust Masahiko for the time being and asked how she could learn about Akatsuki without being exposed.
  • Masahiko sent Ringo to a barren mountain southwest of Konoha and told her to pose as a rogue ninja or bounty hunter until Akatsuki recruited her.
  • Masahiko disappeared, received Witness Points for changing the Fourth Mizukage storyline, and headed back toward Konoha.

Ch. 261Whose Curse?

Masahiko tried to address the Senju clan’s dwindling number of children by brewing medicinal broth, but two and a half months brought no results. After Kagami asked whether Mangekyō Sharingan blindness could be cured, Masahiko began to suspect that a curse might explain both the Uchiha’s failing vision and the Senju’s population decline.

  • Masahiko made the Senju drink daily medicinal broth in hopes of increasing the clan’s birth rate, while Goka complained about Dōzan’s matchmaking visits.
  • After two and a half months without results, Masahiko went to see Minato, who reported the Chunin Exams’ promising graduates and confirmed that Obito had failed.
  • Kagami told Masahiko that fighting Ōnoki had forced him to rely on Susanoo and that his Mangekyō Sharingan vision was fading.
  • Masahiko said that replacing Kagami’s eyes was the only known way to restore his vision, then wondered whether a curse caused the Uchiha’s blindness and the Senju’s decline.
